Shopify Performance & SEO Optimization Specialist

Overview:
---------- is an e-commerce store providing durable medical equipment across South Texas. We recently ran a PageSpeed audit and found that our mobile performance score is low due to slow image loading, heavy JavaScript/CSS, and inefficient caching. We need an experienced web developer to optimize our Shopify theme for speed while maintaining high SEO and accessibility scores.

Responsibilities:

Audit the current site and document baseline metrics (First Contentful Paint, Largest Contentful Paint, Total Blocking Time, etc.).

Compress and convert images to modern formats (WebP/AVIF) and implement lazy loading.

Minify and combine CSS and JavaScript files; remove unused code; defer non-critical scripts.

Optimize caching and enable server-side compression (Brotli/Gzip).

Reduce total network payload by identifying and removing unnecessary assets.

Prioritize above-the-fold content to improve Core Web Vitals.

Maintain existing SEO best practices, including unique meta tags and structured data.

Provide a before-and-after report showing improvements and offer maintenance recommendations.

Qualifications:

Proven experience optimizing Shopify stores for speed and SEO.

Strong skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and performance troubleshooting.

Familiarity with PageSpeed Insights, Core Web Vitals, and Shopify liquid templates.

Ability to communicate clearly and meet deadlines.

Timeline:
The project should be completed within 7–10 days with regular progress updates.
