Senior/Middle+ Full-Stack Engineer (Node.js / React)

The Opportunity
Vast.Ventures is a stable, real-world woodworking business. We are building an in-house engineering team to develop and maintain Sylvaris.app - our internal operational platform.
We are looking for a reliable, high-output Senior/Middle+ Engineer. This is not a role for a "visionary" who wants to spend weeks debating architecture. We need someone who enjoys writing clean code, closing tasks consistently, and following a professional workflow without being micromanaged.

Operational Discipline: You follow the workflow - updating task statuses, leaving meaningful comments, and documenting your progress.
End-to-End Responsibility: You test your own code before it reaches anyone else. "Done" means tested, working, and deployed.
Proactive Reporting: You don’t wait for the manager to ask for an update. You report results, flag blockers immediately, and provide daily transparency.
Strategic Decision Making: When faced with multiple solutions, you present options, explain the pros/cons, and recommend the best path for the business.

Communication & Soft Skills:
The "Plain English" Rule: You can explain complex technical architecture to non-technical founders in simple, logical terms.
Low Ego, High Impact: You argue with logic and data, not emotion. You listen, adapt, and prioritize team harmony and project goals.

What You Will Do:
Develop and scale our stack: React, Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL.
Turn prototypes into robust, production-ready systems.
Bridge the gap between physical woodworking operations and digital efficiency.

Requirements:
4+ years of Full-Stack experience.
Expertise in React, Next.js, Node.js, and SQL.
Exceptional self-organization and a "No-Drama" attitude.
English: good verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to work “Midshift” (UK Daytime)

Nice to Have
Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code or Replit Ghostwriter.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines or serverless architecture.
Understanding of UX/UI design thinking.
Previous experience in startups or fast-moving product teams.
