Senior WordPress / PHP Developer - Contractor Position

Candidate Expectations
Who We're Looking For: Due to the expansion of our projects, we're seeking WordPress developers for project-based work who love beautiful architecture, clean code, and can creatively solve complex problems. Initial engagement will be for 6 months with the possibility of extension based on performance and project availability.

Your Role: You'll be required to develop mobile-responsive websites and backend systems with intermediate experience in WooCoomcerce and Wordpress. You will work with PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, and data formats like JSON and XML.

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of WordPress/PHP development experience, ideally in a commercial or agency environment
• Advanced PHP, HTML, CSS, and scripting (JavaScript/jQuery) development
• Strong understanding of WordPress architecture: hooks, filters, actions, custom classes, and templating system
• Solid experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), Custom Post Types (CPTs), plugin settings/options pages, and admin • • UI development
• Proven experience with WooCommerce, including custom product types, conditional logic, shipping classes, and third-party system integrations
• Comfortable building and maintaining custom plugins and modifying core behaviours without breaking extensibility
• Proficient in building cron-based tasks, batch data syncing processes, queue systems, and scalable background operations
• Experience with REST APIs, WP AJAX, WP_Query, and custom API endpoints
• Familiarity with JavaScript libraries like Vue.js, or React (not mandatory but preferred)
• Experience with MySQL database structure, optimization, and troubleshooting
• Understanding of server environments (cPanel, WHM, WP Engine, SSH, DNS configuration, staging/live workflows)
• Git proficiency using collaborative workflows (branches, pull requests, code review)
• Experience integrating with external platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, REST APIs, analytics tools)
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting abilities across plugin, theme, and server layers
• Awareness of security best practices, including sanitization, validation, and capability checks
• Knowledge of SEO, structured data, and integration with tools like Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Google Analytics (GA) is required
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to document and collaborate with both technical and non-technical tea ---------- mbers
• Ability to break down assigned tasks and provide time or effort estimates when required.”

• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality outcomes
• HubSpot, GA/GTM, or other API integrations
• Experience with reusable or modular component-based systems
• Familiarity with multisite, multilingual, or staging/live branching workflows
• Working knowledge of SEO or content structure principles
• Strong communication skills with ability to work independently and collaboratively
