JOB OVERVIEW

## Senior Video Editor — Narrative Film & TV

**Location:** Fully remote · **Type:** Full-time · **Compensation:** $5,000/month USD · **Reports to:** Post-Production Supervisor

### About us

We're a stealth-stage narrative studio building premium episodic and short-film work — think prestige storytelling with a small, senior-heavy team. We're keeping details under wraps for now; more on the slate and the team once we connect.

### The role

We're looking for a senior editor who cuts story, not just footage. You'll take projects from assembly through final picture lock — shaping performance, pacing, and structure in close partnership with directors and writers. This is a craft-led ownership role at the top of our editorial bar: you'll be trusted with entire episodes or films and expected to have a clear point of view about why a cut works.

### What you'll do

- Build assemblies, rough cuts, and fine cuts for narrative projects, making decisive choices about performance, rhythm, and scene structure.
- Partner directly with directors and showrunners through the cut, translating notes into edits and pushing back thoughtfully when the story calls for it.
- Own pacing and tone across a piece — finding the emotional spine of scenes and the throughline of the whole.
- Manage your own media end to end: organize footage, sync dailies, maintain clean project hygiene and version control across a remote pipeline.
- Prep and hand off cuts for sound, color, and VFX, and integrate temp music, sound, and visual placeholders to sell a cut.
- Set editorial standards and mentor junior editors and assistants across projects.

### What we're looking for

- 6+ years editing narrative film and/or scripted television, with a reel that demonstrates story sense — not just technical polish.
- Mastery of at least one professional NLE (Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, or DaVinci Resolve) and the adaptability to work in a studio's chosen toolchain.
- A strong instinct for performance and pacing — you can feel when a scene runs a beat too long.
- A track record of carrying projects through multiple rounds of director's notes without losing the thread of the story.
- Fully self-directed in a remote setting: excellent communication, disciplined file management, and reliable delivery against deadlines without supervision.

### Nice to have

- Experience with remote review workflows ( ---------- , Evercast, or similar).
- Working knowledge of sound design, color, or motion graphics — enough to spec the handoff well.
- A specific genre or tonal strength (drama, comedy, thriller) that matches our slate.

### Details

- **Compensation:** $5,000/month USD, full-time
- **Time zone:** Async-friendly, with occasional live review sessions; some overlap with AEST business hours preferred.
- **To apply:** Reply to this listing with your reel and a short note on a cut you're proud of and why.

That's a ready-to-post draft. I can drop it into a Word doc if you want something to send around, or keep tweaking.
