Senior Travel API Developer Needed – Build High-Performance Hotel Aggregation & Booking Platform (OTA Level)

Project Overview

We are ---------- , an established travel company operating for over 10 years. We are building our own high-performance hotel booking platform to search multiple hotel suppliers simultaneously and book at the cheapest available rate.

This is a serious OTA-level system similar to ---------- , Agoda, or Expedia (scaled appropriately).

We are NOT looking for generic web developers. Only apply if you have direct experience integrating hotel supplier APIs and building booking engines.

Core Objectives

Build a fast, scalable hotel aggregation and booking platform that can:

• Search hotels across multiple suppliers simultaneously
• Display unified hotel listings (no duplicates)
• Show cheapest supplier automatically
• Complete bookings via supplier APIs
• Store booking data and confirmations
• Handle cancellations and refunds
• Operate as merchant-of-record (we charge the customer directly)

Supplier integrations required

Phase 1 (mandatory):

• RateHawk API integration
• Hotelbeds API integration

Phase 2 (after Phase 1 complete):

• Agoda API integration
• WebBeds API integration

You must have prior experience integrating at least one of these suppliers or similar hotel XML / REST APIs.

Backend:

• Node.js or Python (required)
• PostgreSQL database
• Redis caching layer (required for fast search performance)
• ElasticSearch or similar search index
• Proper hotel mapping system to unify supplier listings

Frontend:

• React or Next.js
• Fast hotel search results page
• Hotel details page
• Booking checkout flow
• Customer dashboard for viewing bookings

Infrastructure:

• AWS, Google Cloud, or similar cloud hosting
• Scalable architecture
• Secure payment integration (Stripe or similar)

Critical performance requirements

Search speed target:

• Under 2 seconds response time

System must:

• Prevent duplicate hotel listings
• Handle supplier API failures gracefully
• Automatically select cheapest supplier
• Be stable and production-ready

Required experience (MANDATORY)

• Expedia API
• OTA booking engine development

You must provide:

• Examples of travel booking engines you built
