Senior PHP Developer – WordPress Theme Implementation (ASAP)

Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior PHP Developer with expertise in WordPress theme implementation for a 3-month project, with the potential for ongoing part-time work as needed after the initial project is complete. The ideal candidate will be responsible for quickly and efficiently developing, customizing, and implementing WordPress themes according to design specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of PHP, WordPress core, and front-end technologies to deliver high-quality, responsive, and visually appealing websites.

Note: This project emphasizes a 'no third-party plugins' approach, meaning all customizations, functionalities, and features must be built using pure vanilla PHP and WordPress core capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
- Theme Development & Customization: Install, customize, and implement WordPress themes to meet client requirements.
- Custom Coding: Write clean, well-structured, and maintainable vanilla PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code to customize theme functionality without relying on third-party plugins.
- Efficient Delivery: Implement themes quickly and accurately while maintaining high-quality code.
- Responsive Design: Ensure themes are mobile-friendly and responsive across all devices.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize website performance, speed, and load times.
- Troubleshooting & Debugging: Identify and fix issues, including theme bugs, PHP errors, and plugin-free implementations.
- Cross-Browser Compatibility: Ensure compatibility across different browsers and platforms.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work with stakeholders to achieve the desired design of the site.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Senior-level proficiency in PHP and deep familiarity with WordPress core development.
- Proven experience with custom WordPress themes and child theme development.
- Expertise in developing solutions using pure vanilla PHP without reliance on third-party plugins.
- Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Experience with front-end frameworks like Bootstrap or Tailwind (optional but preferred).
- Knowledge of SEO best practices for WordPress.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
- Ability to deliver projects quickly without sacrificing code quality.
