Senior N8N Developer

The Role

As a Senior N8n Developer, you’ll design and implement sophisticated, custom N8n automations that connect APIs, databases, and applications. You’ll architect workflows that improve efficiency, eliminate manual processes, and unlock new operational possibilities. You’ll also collaborate closely with other developers, product leads, and business teams to ensure automations are reliable, scalable, and secure.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain advanced N8n workflows and custom nodes.

Integrate data from multiple sources via APIs, webhooks, and databases.

Develop and extend N8n functionality using JavaScript/TypeScript (and ideally Python).

Configure and manage databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.

Optimize workflow performance, scalability, and fault tolerance.

Document workflows, integrations, and architecture for internal teams.

Collaborate cross-functionally to translate operational needs into automation solutions.

Requirements

Proven, hands-on experience with N8n, including complex automations and custom node development.

Strong background in software development, especially JavaScript/TypeScript (Python is a plus).

Experience with database setup and configuration (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.).

Knowledge of API design, authentication protocols, and webhooks.

Ability to architect scalable and maintainable automation systems.

Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.

Comfort working independently in a fast-paced startup environment.

Nice to Have

Experience with DevOps or CI/CD pipelines.

Familiarity with AI tool integrations or machine learning APIs.

Background using or migrating from other automation platforms (e.g., Zapier, Make, or Integromat).

Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
