Seeking ML + Python Engineer for Visual Recognition & Market Analysis System

Here’s a quick overview of the stack and goals:

System Overview:
We’re building a pipeline that includes:

Object Detection

Identify and label key components in messy real-world photos

YOLOv8 or similar model preferred (PyTorch or TensorFlow)

Visual Search

Generate embeddings for detected objects

Use FAISS or similar vector search engine to match against an indexed image dataset

Market Data Integration

Pull listings and metadata from major eCommerce platforms via API or scraping

Perform valuation logic using regression or basic heuristics (median/avg price, demand indicators)

Deployment (Prototype Level)

Wrap core functionality into a script or lightweight API for internal tool use

We’re not building a polished frontend yet — CLI or basic JSON response is fine

? Tech Stack / Tooling:
Python, PyTorch

YOLOv8 or Detectron2

FAISS (preferred) or Annoy

eBay or other marketplace APIs

Roboflow or LabelImg (we already have a labeling pipeline)

Google Colab or local GPU rig (RTX 3070 class)

???? What We're Looking For:
Comfortable training models from scratch and fine-tuning embeddings

Experience building visual search or product recognition tools

Able to work independently and iterate on a basic MVP
