We are a Canadian cloud-accounting firm specializing in bookkeeping, payroll, fractional CFO and fractional controllership services.
We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper / Accountant to join our team. This is a part-time position with opportunities to advance to fulltime. On average, approximately 20 hours per week. However, hours WILL fluctuate based on client needs, particularly during peak periods such as month-end. This role offers flexibility, but candidates should be comfortable with occasional increases in workload.

As an Accountant / Bookkeeper, you will manage financial records for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and excellent communication skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain accurate client financial records, including bank and credit card reconciliations, GL entries, and receipts
Reconcile monthly client schedules and ensure tasks are completed on time and accurately
• Review client books, resolve discrepancies, and provide timely client support
• Assist with month-end and year-end reporting and workpaper preparation
• Manage increased workload during month-end close periods (For example: the 1st to 18th of the month will be the busiest trying to close out prior month)
QUALIFICATIONS
• 2+ years of corporate accounting experience, with a solid understanding of general ledger accounting and full-cycle bookkeeping.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is essential, along with strong Excel skills.
• Experience working with multiple clients in an accounting firm is an asset.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to build client relationships.
• Analytical and critical thinking abilities to solve problems efficiently.
• You thrive working remotely and leveraging technology to stay connected.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while meeting multiple deadlines.
• A commitment to exceptional customer service, with previous client-facing experience.
LOCATION & HOME OFFICE REQUIREMENTS
• You’ll need general availability between 8 AM–6 PM PST. Your actual schedule will be set within that window.
• This role is fully remote, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home.
• Reliable high-speed internet (25 Mbps minimum recommended)
• Quiet workspace suitable for client calls and focused work.
• A modern laptop or desktop capable of running QuickBooks Online, spreadsheets, and video calls.
