About SiliDog
SiliDog makes fun, colorful, silent pet ID tags that pet parents love. We are a Shark Tank-featured pet brand with customers around the world, and we believe every tag deserves care, accuracy, and a little SiliDog magic.
Our tags stay with dogs for life. We want every customer to feel proud when their dog wears one. That means the details matter.
We are looking for a part-time remote team member to help review, edit, and prepare personalized pet tag templates before they go to production.
About the Role
This is not a basic data entry job.
This role combines proofreading, template editing, customer order review, layout checking, and production preparation. You will help make sure each customer’s tag is spelled correctly, formatted beautifully, and prepared according to SiliDog’s standards before it is sent to our production team.
You will be working with customer-submitted personalization, so good judgment is important. Sometimes customers make typos. Sometimes they ask for something silly, unique, emotional, or unusual. Your job is to know when to correct something, when to preserve the customer’s personality, and when to ask for help.
We call this adding SiliDog magic.
Responsibilities
Review personalized pet tag orders for spelling, capitalization, punctuation, formatting, and missing information
Edit tag templates manually so the text is centered, balanced, properly sized, and production-ready
Move text, resize names, adjust line breaks, and format information within SiliDog’s template guidelines
Check tag shape, color, front/back personalization, order notes, and special customer requests
Identify potential customer errors, such as missing phone number digits, unusual punctuation, unclear wording, or incomplete personalization
Contact customers through Shopify when clarification is needed, following our SOP
Contact a SiliDog team member when clarification is needed for vendor orders such as Chewy or PetSmart
Save/export completed files in the proper SVG or EPS format
Email
Send the required screenshot or upload reference so the production team can load the templates properly
Ask production questions when needed and learn from feedback
Help improve the process as we continue building automation
Tools Used
Experience with all of these is not required, but comfort learning software is important.
You may use:
Adobe Illustrator
Corel
Shopify
SiliDog’s custom internal app
ShipStation
WhatsApp
Email
Experience with Adobe Illustrator or similar design/template software is strongly preferred.
Schedule
This is a part-time remote position.
Expected starting workload is approximately 5–6 hours per week, organized around daily production batches.
Typical schedule:
Monday: heavier batch day
Tuesday–Friday: lighter daily batch work
No regular weekend work expected unless discussed in advance
Completed templates must be reviewed, batched, and sent to production by 9:30am Eastern Time each workday unless otherwise noted.
Morning availability is important. Some vendor orders, especially from partners like Chewy, need to be included in the morning batch if they are received by 9:00am Eastern Time. Because of this, the ideal candidate should be available close to the morning deadline rather than only working overnight.
There is potential for the hours to increase over the next 6 months. The right person may also have the opportunity to grow into related responsibilities if it is a good fit.
Training
We will provide training videos, examples, SOPs, and before/after template references so you can learn the SiliDog standard.
You will be trained on:
How to review customer personalization
How to edit templates properly
How to handle common exceptions
How to save and upload files
How to contact customers when clarification is needed
How to send completed batches to production
When to ask the SiliDog team for help
Ideal Candidate
You may be a great fit if you are:
Extremely detail-oriented
Strong with spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting
Comfortable editing templates and visual layouts
Experienced with Adobe Illustrator, Corel, Canva, Photoshop, or similar tools
Reliable with daily deadlines
Careful, patient, and consistent
Good at noticing when something “looks off”
Able to follow SOPs while also using common sense
Comfortable asking questions when something is unclear
Warm, positive, and excited to work with a fun pet brand
Able to understand that every tag belongs to a real pet and customer
Proofreading, journalism, copy editing, graphic design, production art, e-commerce, Shopify, or customer service experience is a plus.
What Makes This Role Special
Our customers are pet parents. Some are silly. Some are emotional. Some have very specific requests. Some make mistakes without realizing it.
The right person will help us protect the customer experience while making sure production receives clean, accurate, beautiful templates.
This is a small role, but it is an important one.
