The General Accountant is a key operational role, ensuring accurate and timely financial record-keeping for our startup clients. This role works closely with our FP&A Analysts and Expert CFOs to manage day-to-day accounting tasks, maintain organized records, and support month-end closing activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and thrives in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance Operations:
Issue invoices and record bills promptly and accurately.
Process payroll and expense claims.
Set up bill payments and payroll payments for approval.
Accounting Operations:
Set up Chart of Accounts
Perform bank reconciliations.
Record manual journal entries, including:
Inventory reconciliations
Capitalization
Lease amortization
Depreciation
Tracking and Documentation:
Maintain trackers for vendor lists, contract lists, employee compensation details, fixed asset registers, and project-based capitalization.
Store contracts, bills, and invoices in an organized and easily retrievable manner.
Tax Compliance and Reporting:
Prepare GST filings and corporate tax computations.
Assist in preparing unaudited financial reports.
Month-End Close Support:
Collaborate with the FP&A Analyst to ensure smooth and timely month-end close processes.
Qualifications:
2-3 years of experience in as a general accountant.
Strong knowledge of GAAP or relevant certification.
Extensive experience in financial operations including AR, AP, and Payroll.
Proficiency in accounting software like Quickbooks, Xero and Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA certified or CPA track.
