Hi there, my name’s Sophie!
I run a marketing agency called Socials by Sophie, and I’m looking for a talented video editor to support me with editing short-form Reels for my clients. This will be for the platform Instagram and include a mix of:
- B-Roll Reels (I will provide all the content)
- Talking Reels (Edited with text, cutdowns and light stock overlay)
Tools
- B-Roll Reels will be edited using the Instagram Editor and CapCut
- Talking Reels will be edited in CapCut and Descript
- You may occasionally use stock video overlays for Talking Reels
Experience with some if not all of these tools is preferred.
Long-Term Opportunity
This is a long-term role. Eventually, I would love you to take over editing all videos inside the agency, but to begin with, I need support with:
- 3–5 B-Roll Reels per week
- 3–5 Talking Reels per week
If you're also able to schedule these posts (training provided), that would be an added bonus, but not a must. I want someone who is willing to do other VA work on an hourly rate when required, although video editing will be your main role.
What I’m Looking For
These edits are simple, and training will be provided but there are two things that matter most in this role:
- You must be open to feedback
I will give clear, kind and direct feedback. You must be happy to make changes quickly and carefully.
- You must pay close attention to detail
All videos must be neat, well-edited and high quality. Even small mistakes matter.
Creativity is also very important. For B-Roll Reels especially, you need to be able to create short videos that are beautiful and engaging. The first three seconds must catch attention and stop the scroll.
You’ll be working across two main industries: skin clinics and business coaches. I will always give you the text, branding guidelines (fonts, colours etc.), and the type of content each video needs - but the creative direction will be up to you.
You will be responsible for how the video looks, flows and feels.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience with video editing (especially short-form content like Reels or TikToks)
- Must speak English confidently and clearly
- Must have a strong internet connection and reliable communication
- Must be able to follow instructions and meet deadlines
- Must be confident using CapCut, Descript, and Instagram Reels Editor (or other software and willing to learn)
- Experience working with a social media manager or agency is preferred
- Must be comfortable learning new tools (training is provided)
Payment and Rates
This is a fixed-price role, meaning you are paid per video -not hourly. This ensures:
- You are always paid fairly
- If you become faster with practice, your rate stays the same
Rates:
B-Roll Reels: US $4.50 per video
(These usually take 10–20 minutes to complete)
Talking Reels: US $6.50 per video
(These may take up to 45 minutes to complete)
These prices include any small revisions I may request.
Turnaround Time
You must be able to complete each video within 48 hours after I send you the content. This applies to both B-Roll Reels and Talking Reels.
Meeting deadlines is very important. Please only apply if you can commit to this timeline consistently.

Sophie
