We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer / Project Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in project management, design, and fabrication processes, with experience using ERP systems and design software. This role involves managing projects from quotation through completion, ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review quotations for rotable and non-rotable items.
• Manage vendor quotations and oversee contract management.
• Process job cards using ERP software and link projects within the system.
• Review job details and requirements in alignment with purchase orders.
• Create accurate fabrication drawings in Autodesk Inventor for client approval and secure the necessary approvals before production.
• Verify supplied drawings against purchase orders using AutoCAD, Adobe Reader, or Navisworks Manage.
Develop and maintain project schedules in Microsoft Project while preparing progress reports and final project documentation.
• Participate in project kick-off meetings with workshop personnel.
• Process drawings, prepare DFT/DXF files, and create nesting.
Support job card issuance, monitor project progress, provide timely updates to customers and managers, and coordinate collection notices with customers.
• Prepare Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Manufacturing Data Records (MDRs), and Technical Review Forms (TRFs) when required.
• Conduct QA inspections for supplier drawings for cast materials sourced internationally.
• Ensure mark-ups and drawing revisions are compliant with purchase orders.
• Ensure all job cards are processed accurately and fully compliant with client purchase orders.
• Maintain projects within budget and timelines.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design, fabrication, or project engineering.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage, Microsoft Project, and other relevant tools.
• Experience preparing nesting data.
• Knowledge in using CNCad and Autonest is a plus.
• Familiarity with ERP systems. Knowledge in M1 ERP is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication processes and project management principles.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Experience in mining industry is a plus.
• Has initiative and can work under pressure with less supervision.
