Production / Engineering Support

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Production / Engineering Support professional to join our team in a remote capacity.

This role is ideal for an engineering professional with strong experience in fabrication, manufacturing, production planning, drafting, procurement coordination, and project management. The successful candidate will support production workflows, coordinate material procurement requirements, assist with drafting activities, and help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

You will work closely with management, production personnel, estimators, and drafting teams to maintain operational efficiency and support the successful delivery of engineering and fabrication projects.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare material take-offs and procurement lists based on engineering drawings and project specifications.
* Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs), cutting lists, and material schedules to support procurement and production planning.
* Review project specifications, technical requirements, and engineering drawings.
* Maintain production records and documentation for manufacturing projects.
* Monitor project progress and identify potential risks and improvement opportunities.
* Assist with quality assurance processes and compliance requirements.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
* Review material requirements and optimise purchasing quantities to minimise waste and improve efficiency.
* Prepare basic CAD drawings and drafting modifications for fabricated components.
* Assist with the preparation, review, and revision of manufacturing drawings.
* Ensure drafting outputs comply with project specifications and fabrication requirements.
* Support estimating, planning, and scheduling activities as required.

Required Skills & Experience

Qualifications

Trade qualification or extensive industry experience in one or more of the following:

* Boilermaking
* Welding & Fabrication
* Mechanical Engineering
* Manufacturing Engineering

Experience

* Minimum 4 years of experience within engineering, fabrication, or manufacturing environments.
* Strong understanding of build-to-print manufacturing and fabrication operations.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
* Experience working with structural steel, fabrication, or industrial manufacturing projects.
* Strong production planning, scheduling, and workflow management experience.
* Experience preparing Bills of Materials (BOMs), cutting lists, and material take-offs.
* Experience supporting procurement and fabrication planning activities.
* Practical understanding of laser cutting, plate processing, and fabrication workflows.
* Ability to perform basic drafting and drawing modifications using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
* Knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and production processes.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
