Product Development & Technical Specification Specialist (Remote)

We are looking for a Product Development & Technical Specification Specialist to support the development of merchandising products, POSM, retail displays, packaging, wearables, bar tools, and branded items.

The role focuses on transforming creative concepts into clear and accurate technical documentation that can be used by our sourcing team and manufacturing partners.

This is not a sourcing role. However, a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and factory requirements is essential to ensure that specifications are realistic, complete, and production-ready.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Specifications & Product Documentation
Create detailed Technical Specification Sheets (TSS) and Tech Packs.
Produce technical drawings, layouts, dimensions, assembly details, and component specifications.
Define materials, finishes, construction details, and product requirements.
Translate creative concepts into clear production documentation.
Product Development Support
Collaborate with designers and project teams to refine concepts.
Ensure products are technically feasible and ready for sourcing.
Identify potential manufacturing challenges before production begins.
Support prototype and sample review processes.
Manufacturing Knowledge & Best Practices
Provide technical guidance to sourcing and project teams.
Recommend appropriate materials and production methods.
Maintain a database of materials, manufacturing techniques, and technical standards.
Stay updated on new materials and production innovations.

Requirements:
Experience creating Technical Specification Sheets (TSS), Tech Packs, or production documentation.
Experience in product design, industrial design, packaging design, POSM, retail displays, merchandising, or similar fields.
Strong understanding of materials, dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing processes.
Ability to create accurate technical drawings and product layouts.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Good written and spoken English.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with merchandising products, promotional items, packaging, or retail displays.
Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino, or similar.
Understanding of factory requirements, manufacturing constraints, and production workflows.
Experience working alongside sourcing, procurement, or manufacturing teams.
