JOB OVERVIEW

**Performance Video Editor**

**Remote — Australia (Melbourne-based team) | Full-time, 38 hours/week AEST**

---

### **Not all editors make ads. The best ones make blinds look like the most exciting thing on the feed.**

We're 5 Minute Blinds. We sell custom-made blinds and curtains that Australians can measure, order, and install themselves in minutes, not weeks. We don't sell window coverings. We sell **taste**.

We're looking for a Performance Video Editor who can turn fabric, light, and transformation into scroll-stopping creative that actually drives sales.

---

About Us

We're a Melbourne-based DTC brand reshaping how Australians buy window furnishings. Custom-made, expertly crafted right here in Australia, designed to be installed by anyone with a cordless drill.

We're growing fast across Meta, TikTok, Google, and Pinterest. Every room transformation, install demo, and fabric close-up is an opportunity to win a customer — and we need an editor who treats it that way.

The Role

This isn't a "make it look pretty" editing role. You'll sit at the intersection of creative and conversion, cutting video that stops

thumbs mid-scroll, drives new customer acquisition, and helps us achieve our mission of becoming the experts in the window furnishings industry.

You'll work directly with our performance marketing team, turning campaign data into creative decisions and shipping new ad variants at the pace performance media demands.

What You'll Actually Do

Turn performance data into visual strategy by working with the paid media team to understand what's converting (and what isn't), then design edits that double down on what works

Edit conversion-focused video across Meta, TikTok, Reels, YouTube, Shorts, Pinterest, and Google — optimised for each platform's aspect ratios, sound conventions, and viewer behaviour

Master the 3-second hook — our products are visual, but the feed requires virality. You'll craft openings that earn the next 30 seconds

Rapidly iterate and A/B test design concepts based on performance data and real-time campaign feedback

Design scroll-stopping videos and motion graphics that capture attention within 3 seconds and drive engagement

Participate in creative reviews to analyse top-performing creative elements and extract replicable design principles

Multiply creative output through AI tools — leverage cutting-edge AI technologies to enhance asset generation and production efficiency

Meet performance benchmarks including click-through rates, engagement rates, and conversion metrics across all campaigns

Deliver assets on deadline while maintaining quality standards and organised documentation systems

What Sets You Apart

Proven experience — Minimum of 2–3 years in a similar role. You've got a strong grasp of design fundamentals and know your way around Adobe Creative Cloud.

You analyse data before designing — You don't just want to know what looks good; you want to know what converts and why

You've mastered rapid iteration — You can produce multiple high-quality variants quickly, not precious about your work

You understand the psychology behind conversions — You know why certain visuals trigger action and how to implement those principles

You can translate performance metrics into design decisions — CTR, Hook Rate & CVR aren't just acronyms to you; they're design briefs

You think like a growth marketer, not just a designer — You care about business outcomes, not just aesthetics

You make decisions fast — You're comfortable with speed, can manage multiple projects, and deliver quality under tight deadlines

Why Join Us

Real ownership of a fast-growing brand — your edits will be seen by hundreds of thousands of Australians every week, and you'll see the revenue impact in real time

Work with purpose, ideas become reality — Create assets that drive real business results. We celebrate bold work and strong concepts get implemented quickly.

Learn constantly — Gain expertise across multiple platforms and industries. Receive honest input that drives improvement through open discussion.

Creative autonomy — We'll give you the problem, not micromanage your process
Flexible work arrangements — Fully remote with core hours for team collaboration. Focus on results, not desk time, with freedom to structure your day.

Supportive team culture full of A-players — Our rigorous hiring ensures everyone on the team is exceptional while ensuring we win as a team.

Performance-based rewards — We recognise and compensate exceptional results
Growth opportunity, collaborative environment — Help shape our creative approach as we expand. Knowledge sharing without creative politics or egos.

Ready to Prove You're in the Top 1%?

Our hiring process is built to identify exceptional talent — quickly.

Apply with your resume, a cover letter, and a portfolio or reel of performance work. Please link to actual ads that ran, not just brand films or spec work.

Applications without a portfolio will not be accepted.

To confirm you've read this entire job description, please include the word BLUE somewhere in your cover letter.

Shortlisted applicants will be asked to record a short 3–5 minute video walking us through the following:

- Introduce yourself — Tell us who you are and what kind of creative work you've been doing for the last 12 months, specifically anything in the DTC or ecomm space.
- Show us something you edited that actually ran as a paid ad — Talk us through what you were trying to achieve in the first 3 seconds and whether it worked. Share the results or any client feedback you received.
- What's one thing most video editors get wrong when they're cutting ads for ecomm brands, and how do you approach it differently?

No fancy production required — we're looking for clear thinking, not polish.
Finalists join us for a portfolio review and creative strategy conversation.
