Part-Time QuickBooks Bookkeeper for U.S. Ecommerce Startup

We are a small U.S.-based ecommerce/product startup looking for a reliable, detail-oriented remote bookkeeper to help keep our books clean and organized in QuickBooks Online.

This is a small part-time role to start, with the potential to grow into a larger part-time or full-time position as the company grows.

We would like to start with approximately 2–3 hours per week for training, setup, and cleanup now. Once sales volume increases, we expect the role to grow to approximately 5–10 hours per week.

Rate: $5 USD/hour
Schedule: Flexible, as long as work is completed consistently each week
Location: Remote

Responsibilities:

Categorize transactions in QuickBooks Online
Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
Organize receipts, invoices, and supporting documents
Help track ecommerce sales, payment processor deposits, fees, refunds, shipping, and expenses
Help keep founder loans, transfers, credit card payments, inventory purchases, COGS, and operating expenses properly organized
Prepare simple monthly reports, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet
Flag anything that may need review by a U.S. CPA
Maintain clean, accurate, and up-to-date books

Requirements:

Experience with QuickBooks Online
Experience with U.S. small business bookkeeping
Ecommerce bookkeeping experience preferred
Strong attention to detail
Reliable communication
Comfortable asking questions instead of guessing
Able to work independently
Honest, organized, and consistent

Nice to Have:

Experience with Shopify, Amazon, Stripe, PayPal, or similar ecommerce/payment platforms
Experience organizing receipts and invoices
Familiarity with inventory, COGS, and owner/founder loans

Important:
This role is for bookkeeping support only. We will use a U.S. CPA for tax strategy and tax filing. You should be comfortable preparing clean books and flagging questions for CPA review.
