PHP Programmer / Systems Engineer

We are looking to grow our team with a full-time PHP programmer to focus on development of data management back-end system application. This position is best suited for a candidate with solid database experience (MySQL / MSSQL) as well as a strong foundation of web development and PHP best practices.
We are also looking for a candidate that can design and develop complex systems (i.e. a lot of moving parts). All candidates will be required to demonstrate their knowledge and experiences during the interview process.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
- A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics or Computer Networking is preferred, however not required if you have sufficient experience such as a long work history or strong involvement with open source development.
- PHP and database (MySQL / MSSQL) experience is the most important need for this position. If you can not manipulate data in a database with PHP using your own custom SQL queries, this position is not for you.
- We rely heavily on voice calls, email, and instant messaging which means clear written and spoken English is essential for this position.
- While this position is primarily for back-end development, a solid understanding of HTML and JS/AJAX is required. Additional front-end experience is always a plus (CSS, jQuery, Bootstrap, etc).
- Strong technical and analytical skills as well as attention to detail is required. In addition, a strong willingness to learn new skills and go above and beyond is a great quality.
- Experience in using a web application framework or in developing web-based application. Experience in developing desktop applications would be a plus.
- Any experiences with additional programming languages, frameworks, template engines, OOP, functional programming, application development, design, art / graphics skills, etc., while not required for this position, are definitely important to us and are big pluses.
- We like to see candidates with a least a 2 years of working / freelance experience under their belt however graduates are welcome to apply if they can WOW us with their skills and be ready to learn A LOT in a short amount of time.

POSITION DETAILS:

- Position is responsible for designing, developing and maintaining code, modules, features, and systems for a data management back-end web application as well as working together with our team to plan, research, test, and deploy new releases.
- Training will be provided upon hiring for candidates to become familiar with our working environment, the project details, and the technology we currently use.
- Flexible weekday working schedules are allowed.
