About Free Money Meister
Free Money Meister is an AI-powered scholarship matching and prioritization platform. We help students find the right scholarships, rank them by their actual likelihood of winning, and execute on them. To date our students have won over $500,000 in scholarships, averaging roughly $12,500 per student.
We are a fast-moving, high-bar team. We are building something that matters, and we move quickly. The person in this role works alongside a small group of people who consistently go above and beyond, and we are looking for someone who operates the same way.
The Role
This is an outward-facing operations role. You will support outreach, research, course coordination, and marketing operations as we grow our beta and build our pipeline of partners and customers. You will report into our operations function and work closely with our Executive Assistant.
This is a part-time, hourly, remote position. We expect roughly 10 hours per week to start, with potential to grow as you prove yourself and as the company scales. Provide your proposed hourly rate.
What You Will Actually Do
• Research and qualify prospective B2B2C partners (college consultants, financial planners, test-prep companies, education coaches) who serve families with college-bound students.
• Build and maintain prospect lists with the right data captured: contact details, fit rationale, and prioritization.
• Support outbound outreach campaigns and track responses and follow-ups.
• Coordinate course and content logistics tied to our learning platform.
• Provide general marketing support: scheduling, organizing assets, light campaign execution.
• Capture what is needed for registrations, sign-ups, and partner onboarding accurately and completely.
Who We Are Looking For
Experience is helpful but not required. We care far more about how you work than where you have worked. The right person is:
• Super responsive. You reply quickly and you communicate proactively. If you are blocked or unsure, we hear from you while you are working, not after.
• An overachiever. You go above and beyond. You notice things we did not ask about and surface them. You treat our goals as your goals.
• A strong independent thinker. You can take an ambiguous task, make a judgment call, and defend your reasoning. You do not just execute, you think.
• Efficient and honest about time. You use modern tools, including AI, to move fast. Your logged time reflects the actual scope of the work.
• A culture fit. You thrive on a small team that holds a high bar and moves fast. You take direction well and self-correct quickly.
Tools and AI
We expect you to use AI tools to work efficiently, and we view that as a strength, not something to hide. What we are evaluating is the judgment you add on top of the tools: the thinking, the prioritization, and the decisions. AI can build a list. It cannot d
A Note Before You Apply
You do not have to be an expert in this field. What we are looking for is someone who is smart, has grit and initiative, and goes above and beyond. If that is you, there is a quick accompanying gig included with this posting that we would like you to complete and send over together with your job application. It helps us assess you better.
Applications that include the completed gig will get our attention. The gig is your chance to show us who you are.
Gig
Below are four types of professionals we could partner with for our B2B2C customer segment. We offer “seats” to these professionals at a discounted price, this allows the students working with those professionals to access our platform at a discounted rate. Read all four categories, do research, and select the top 10-20 professionals in the state of Maryland, USA that we should start with based on highest probability/likelihood of conversion. Describe your process and why you made the choices that you made, the formatting is totally up to you. Note: If you want to make an impact, be part of fast growth, and work with a team that’s all willing to put in the work, then this is the right place for you.
Who they are
1)Test-prep companies & tutoring centers - Businesses offering SAT/ACT prep, academic tutoring, and study support to students and families.
2) Independent college consultants - Private advisors who guide families through college admissions and applications.
3) Financial planners & wealth advisors - Professionals who help families plan finances, including saving and paying for college.
4) Parent & education coaches - Coaches who help parents and students navigate the college-readiness journey.
How We Hire
Resumes tell us very little about how someone actually works. So our process centers on the accompanying gig, which mirrors the real work of this role and lets us see how you think and make decisions. There is a brief real-time follow-up after you submit.
We are looking for the person who treats that gig the way they would treat the job: responsive, thoughtful, efficient, and a step beyond what was asked.
