JOB OVERVIEW

About Us

We're building RAVIA, a location-based augmented reality mobile game designed to get kids aged 8-14 outdoors and active. Think Pokemon GO meets fitness adventure. Players explore their real-world neighbourhoods to discover creatures ("Ravs"), complete challenges, and earn real-world rewards from retail partners.
We're a small, focused team working toward an MVP launch, and we're looking for a Junior Game Developer to build the immersive AR experience at the heart of the game.

The Role

You'll be the primary builder of the RAVIA AR experience. Your mission is to bring the "Rav" avatar to life using the Google Geospatial API, ensuring tokens and loot boxes appear accurately in the real world, and implementing the mobile-friendly puzzles and mini-games that keep players engaged.

This is a hands-on technical role — you'll own the AR implementation, game mechanics, and performance optimisation end to end.

What You'll Do

- Use ARCore/ARKit and the Google Geospatial API to place persistent AR content at specific lat/long coordinates
- Design and build web-app-based mini-games (Sudoku, Hangman, Wordle, Crosswords, and similar) loadable via WebView within the Unity or Flutter environment
- Build the token spawning system using random point generation within geofence boundaries
- Implement 3D token animations, tier-specific particle effects (Golden, Diamond, Ultimate), and loot box opening sequences
- Optimise AR scenes for battery life and frame rate, including testing individual vs. corner geospatial anchor strategies
- Handle the Unity-side messaging bridge to receive user data from Flutter

Requirements

- Proficiency in HTML5, JavaScript, or TypeScript to build responsive, mobile web-app-based puzzle games
- Familiarity with the Google ARCore Geospatial API, Visual Positioning Service (VPS), and Geospatial Anchors
- Basic mathematics: geometry, point-in-polygon validation, and ray-casting algorithms
- Available for 40 hours/week with Sydney timezone overlap (start no later than 10am Sydney)
- Comfortable with time tracking via ---------- (screenshots enabled)

This is a full-time, exclusive engagement — no other concurrent work

Nice to Have

- Experience with Unity WebView packages
- Mobile performance optimisation experience across both AR and web views
- Prior exposure to Flutter/Unity integration

Compensation
AUD $1,733 per month, with opportunity to reassess after the initial evaluation period.

To Apply

Send your portfolio showcasing:

- AR or location-based projects you've worked on
- Mini-games or web-app games you've built
- Any shipped Unity projects or mobile games
- Links to GitHub or live demos where available
