About the company
Stop! This isn’t another vague, corporate B.S. job post.
We've taken time to create this (we know, it's long) but please read through its entirety because we're serious about this role and we want to hire someone who is too.
At iRank LLC, we’re building something bigger than a collection of websites.
We started as a leading media company in the telehealth niche, specifically around GLP-1s, running three of the most trusted sites in the industry. But we’ve evolved.
We’re no longer just connecting people with the right providers... we’re becoming the provider.
We’re moving beyond affiliate marketing into actually delivering the products and programs that change lives.
Why the shift?
Two big reasons:
1. The landscape is changing. Google and AI don't like intermediaries/affiliate sites — and we don’t want to be one.
2. The mission is bigger than clicks and commissions. We’ve seen firsthand the positive impact GLP-1s can have on people’s lives (and our society), and we believe in that impact deeply.
We’re here to help people achieve true health — not just physical, but mental, emotional, financial, and social health too. Because when your body is right, everything else in your life improves.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re into CrossFit, yoga, bodybuilding, or long walks with your dog. What matters is that we align on this core belief:
Everything is downstream from your physical health.
Our goal is to help 10,000+ people by the end of 2026 reclaim control of their bodies, reverse diabetes, and live stronger lives.
We also believe weight struggles aren’t always a matter of willpower. Food palatability, hormones, and biology differ for everyone. And compassion has to lead the conversation.
That’s why we don’t just help people start GLP-1s; we help them get off them.
These medications are a powerful jumpstart, not a lifelong crutch, and our ultimate goal is to transition people into sustainable, healthy lifestyles.
Professionally we’re a small, remote, high-performing team. Each person is obsessed with growth inside and outside of work. We want to hire another teammate who’s proud to say:
“I help people take control of their health and their lives.”
If that mission excites you, keep reading.
About the role
You’ll be joining a company led by builders, not corporate managers.
From day one, you’ll work directly with our Lead Developer and one co-founder Alex Horsman (
Together, we’ll dive deep into our current WordPress stack, hosting environments, and development workflows. You’ll learn how our websites are structured — then we’ll hand you the reins.
This isn’t a role where you’re handed tasks. It’s a role where you’re handed ownership.
You’ll be 100% responsible for the health, performance, and scalability of our websites — from front-end experience and Core Web Vitals to plugin optimization and code quality. We’ll show you how we’ve been running things, but then we’ll get out of your way.
Our leadership philosophy is simple: high trust, high accountability.
We believe in autonomy, but we also believe in results. You’ll have full control over your priorities, schedule, and ideas — as long as they make the product faster, cleaner, and more reliable.
We don’t do busywork. We focus on leverage.
That means creating systems, not just fixing tickets. Writing clean, maintainable code that lasts. Thinking deeply before deploying.
We also don’t tolerate blame-shifting, negativity, or ego.
And while we care about performance, we care about people more. We want to know how you’re doing — not just in work, but in life. How’s your health, your energy, your mindset? Because we don’t just want great developers here; we want great humans living well-rounded lives.
About You
This isn’t a “WordPress tinkerer” role. We’re looking for someone who builds systems, not one-off pages. You’ll be the point person for everything technical within our WordPress ecosystem — from architecture to optimization.
You’ll work closely with our content, design, and SEO teams to build pages that load fast, look incredible, and perform flawlessly in Google’s eyes.
Front-End Development:
Build responsive, mobile-first layouts using clean HTML/CSS.
Implement progressive enhancement (minimal JS, no dependency on it for core features).
Translate Figma designs into pixel-perfect templates that perform beautifully.
Theme & Plugin Development:
Create and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins tailored to our brands.
Build custom Gutenberg blocks to streamline our editorial workflows.
Review and replace bloated plugins with lightweight, maintainable solutions.
Performance & SEO Optimization:
Own Core Web Vitals — ensure pages pass every time.
Monitor and optimize PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse, and Clarity metrics.
Write semantic markup with
Maintenance & Reliability:
Manage staging --> production deployments, version control, and rollbacks.
Handle plugin updates, conflict resolution, and site uptime monitoring.
Collaborate with our ad hoc dev and hosting providers to keep everything fast and secure.
Cross-Team Collaboration:
Work closely with our SEO, design, and content teams to balance form, function, and performance.
Provide technical recommendations that influence design, UX, and SEO strategies.
Tools We Use
We use a variety of world class tools to make sure our work is just that: World class.
Here are the tools you can expect to use on a daily or weekly basis.
ClickUp - for project management.
Slack - for quick communication and calls.
WordPress - CMS for the website.
You should also be comfortable with:
PHP, HTML, CSS, and JS
Google Analytics
Google Search Console
Who You Are
Here is where HR teams drop a bunch of vague adjectives that don't really mean anything.
But that's not us.
We're serious.
If you’re the ideal candidate, you’ve got at least 3–7 years of professional WordPress development experience, and more importantly, you display the following characteristics:
- Positive attitude: We don’t tolerate blame-shifting, negativity, or ego. You take ownership and stay solutions-focused.
- Technical operator: You’re comfortable with HTML, CSS, PHP, and can build themes, plugins, and Gutenberg blocks from scratch. You understand how your code affects SEO, UX, and performance.
- Performance-minded: You love clean code, fast pages, and Core Web Vitals green lights.
- Excellent communication: We’re remote. That means clear, proactive, and respectful communication is everything.
- Problem solver: You thrive with autonomy. You don’t wait for direction; you diagnose, propose, and execute.
- Detail-oriented: You take pride in precision. You’ll notice an extra margin, a stray div, or an unnecessary dependency before anyone else does.
- Independent but collaborative: You can run with big projects solo, but you also work well with designers, content managers, and SEOs to build things that convert.
- Growth-oriented: You’re always improving — whether that’s your code, your workflow, or your mindset.
Our operating principle is “ask for forgiveness, not permission.”
Being a completely remote tea
Our Three Non-negotiables:
1. Get Sh*t Done (GSD): You’re trusted to deliver. Independence here isn’t permission to coast. It’s a vote of confidence that you’ll execute.
2. Be Conscientious: Be an enabler, not a blocker. Work hard, be responsive, and make your team better.
3. Own the Stack: You’re not here to babysit WordPress. You’re here to own it. Build, refine, and protect the codebase like it’s yours.
Culture Fit
We’re serious about results, but not as serious about ourselves.
We joke around a lot, roast each other in Slack, and celebrate wins loudly. If you can’t laugh at yourself or need corporate-style polish, this isn’t the place for you.
We WIN but we also love to laugh. We’re a blend of Hustle Culture × 4-Hour Workweek. We work hard when it’s time to work, then live our lives outside of it. We admire people like Alex Hormozi, Tim Ferriss, Sahil Bloom, and Peter Drucker. Between all of them lives a balance.
If you’re obsessed with self-development, personal growth, and getting better every day then you’ll fit right in.
What's in it for you?
At iRank, we don’t hire people to fill roles. We hire people to build them.
This position is designed for someone who wants to grow into our Lead Developer or Head of Engineering as we scale our portfolio of brands and expand into new products. You’ll start by owning our entire WordPress ecosystem — from theme and plugin development to performance optimization — and over time, you’ll build and mentor a small development team beneath you.
Winning here isn’t just about clean code or fast pages.
Winning means creating the technical foundation that helps us reach our mission of transforming 10,000+ lives by the end of 2026 through better health, confidence, and longevity.
You’ll report directly to our Lead Developer and work with our Co-Founders, who will give you clear direction at the start, then full autonomy to build, optimize, and innovate. You’ll collaborate with our current senior developer (who built much of our existing infrastructure) and have the opportunity to help design the next generation of our stack as we launch more sites and features.
We invest in growth — both yours and the company’s.
If there’s a course, conference, or certification that will sharpen your edge, we’ll support it. You’ll have a say in your own development, and we’ll expect you to bring back what you learn to make our entire engineering team better.
Compensation and benefits
Financially, we structure compensation to reward true ownership:
- 20 hrs/week with potential to turn into Full Time work
- Fully Remote
- Flexible Schedule
This isn’t a 9-to-5 J.O.B. It’s ownership. You’ll directly influence the business and if you think like an entrepreneur and care about outcomes, you’ll thrive here.
We’re building a long-term home for someone who wants to play the big game: high responsibility, high autonomy, and high reward.
