We are currently looking for a highly motivated individual who is willing to work in a stimulating, fast-paced environment with growth and development opportunities.
The logistics planner is responsible for the movement of a product through its entire life cycle, including purchasing, distribution, internal allocation, deliver, and final disposal of resources. He or she will assist management in working with different departments and outside service providers to ensure the overall process runs smoothly. The role combines data entry, reporting, some level of supervision, along with hands-on application. This position will provide leadership to the warehousing team, and collaborate with our customer support team, purchasing team, and in-house shop whenever needed.
Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Maintain real time inventory tracking by updating receiving and shipping activities in our database.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound traffic with suppliers and internal team.
- Prioritize daily and weekly shipping and receiving activities based on customer needs and warehouse capacity.
- Assist customer support team in their activities by providing shipping/delivery information, and to ensure the best supply chain solutions are achieved.
- Collaborate with other departments as necessary to meet customer requirements, to take advantage of sales opportunities or, in the case of shortages, to minimize negative impacts on our business.
- Establish strong working partnerships with transportation service providers to ensure maximum efficiency and prompt delivery of goods.
- Instruct carrier agents and supervise for ample action and results concerning transportation.
- Coordinate and investigate logistic associated charge backs like additional fees, lost/damage product in transit, and missed deliveries with account representative
- Work with transportation service providers to obtain the best pricing structure and service agreement that meets our business needs.
- Perform bookkeeping functions for logistics related expense and reconcile against budget.
- Monitor work order management system to ensure availability of products in the warehouse for shipment needs.
- Perform on going evaluation and review of transportation arrangements for constant improvement opportunities. Identify best cost-effective procedure of transportation.
- Assist management in overseeing warehouse activities and monitor the effectiveness to achieve logistics goals
- Analyze distribution process and make improvement suggestions as necessary.
- Prepare and deliver logistics reports to management for decision making.
- Assist, support, and provide backup coverage for the team.
The job requires initiative, organizational skills, leadership skills, and the ability to react quickly to constantly changing work priorities. The code word is gohogs. Excellent English communication skills and a neutral accent is a MUST.
