We are a Southern California-based landscape design studio looking for a detail-oriented Landscape Associate to support our growing workload on residential and small commercial projects. This role is focused on CAD drafting, plan production, and design support for landscape architecture projects including planting plans, irrigation layouts, grading coordination, and construction documentation.
This is a remote-friendly position with flexible hours, ideal for someone who is highly organized, technically strong in drafting, and comfortable working independently with direction.
About Us:
We are a design-focused landscape practice specializing in high-end residential and development projects across Southern California, including HOA, city submittals, and construction documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce landscape CAD drawings from concept to construction documentation
- Assist with planting plans, irrigation layouts, and hardscape coordination
- Update and revise plans based on redlines and client/agency comments
- Prepare MWELO worksheets and supporting documentation (training can be provided)
- Coordinate with lead designer on design intent and drawing standards
- Organize and manage drawing sets, layers, and file structures
- Occasional research of plant palettes, city requirements, and specifications
- Ensure clean, accurate, and well-presented drawing sets for submittal
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong AutoCAD skills (2D drafting required)
- Experience with landscape architecture or architectural drafting
- Understanding of basic planting and irrigation design principles
- Ability to read and interpret architectural/site plans
- Strong attention to detail and drawing organization
- Reliable communication and ability to meet deadlines
Preferred (Not Required):
- Experience with California landscape plans (MWELO familiarity is a plus)
- Knowledge of city/HOA submittal processes
- SketchUp or 3D support skills
- Prior experience working remotely with U.S. clients
Work Style:
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Comfortable receiving feedback and making revisions quickly
- Organized with file management and version control
- Clear communicator (written English important)
Compensation & Schedule:
- Part-time to start, with potential to grow into full-time
- Hourly rate based on experience
- Flexible schedule, but must overlap at least partially with Pacific Time (California)
