Inventory Data Analytics (Project Based)

We are an international wine e-commerce business building an internal inventory intelligence system.

This is a project-based role to design and build a rule-driven inventory and pricing workflow that ingests weekly supplier Excel files, applies margin rules, and selectively uses market pricing data.

The goal is to build a self-running system that continues working after the project ends. This is not ongoing data entry or VA work.

What you will do
• Design a clean master inventory structure from multiple supplier Excel files
• Normalize and deduplicate product data using rule-based logic
• Build week-over-week change detection (new items and material price drops)
• Implement explicit margin rules (percentage + absolute profit)
• Integrate limited third-party pricing data as a reference layer (not auto pricing)
• Create a clear “approved inventory” output that downstream systems can trust
• Document the system so it can be operated without you

What you will NOT do
• Ongoing inventory maintenance
• Manual data entry every week
• Shopify product management
• Customer service or order processing

Tools
• Google Sheets or Excel (advanced)
• Optional: light scripting or APIs if comfortable, but not required

Project scope
• Estimated 2–4 weeks
• Clear milestones and handoff
• Fixed deliverables, not open-ended hours
