**Video Data Collector – Household Cleaning Tasks (Wearable Camera)**

Get paid to clean your own home. We're collecting first-person video to help train AI and robotics systems, and we need people willing to perform everyday household tasks while wearing a smartphone mounted on their head. You work from home, on your own schedule. All you need is a phone and a clean (or messy!) house.


**What You'll Do**

Wear a head-mounted smartphone and go about normal household cleaning tasks while the camera records your first-person perspective. Most contributors record in 20 to 60 minute sessions. Tasks include:

- **Room Tidying & Organization** - Pick up clutter, rearrange items on shelves and tables, straighten furniture, and restore a messy room to order
- **Dishwashing (Full Cycle)** - Gather dirty dishes, wash or load them, dry, and put them away
- **Laundry (Full Cycle)** - Collect clothes, wash, dry, fold, and put them away
- **General Household Chores** - Sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, taking out trash, watering plants, or any routine task that involves using your hands

The more variety in your recordings (different rooms, objects, layouts), the more valuable the data, so we encourage you to mix things up.


**Equipment & Setup**

*Camera:* A smartphone (or equivalent camera) that records at 1080p and 30 FPS or better. Most phones made in the last 5 years qualify.

*Orientation:* Smartphone must be in landscape (horizontal) mode. Alternative cameras should have a wide field of view (approximately 130 degrees or wider).

*Mounting:* The phone must be securely strapped to your forehead or at eye level, angled slightly downward so your hands and the objects you're working with stay visible. Inexpensive head-strap mounts work great. We can help you find one and cover the cost.

*Environment:* Your own home or any real residential space. Good, even lighting is required. Natural daylight or well-lit rooms work best.


**Quality Standards**

Every recording goes through quality review. Only footage that meets these standards will be accepted:

*Accepted footage:*
- Hands clearly visible for the majority of the recording, with both palms and fingers showing while you handle objects
- Tasks performed naturally and purposefully, the way you'd actually clean your home
- Steady, well-lit, free of obstructions (no fingers over the lens, no extreme tilt)
- Each clip at least 15 seconds long
- Recorded with your full attention. No multitasking or operating other devices during a session.

*What gets rejected:*
- Shaky, blurry, or poorly lit video
- Hands rarely visible or only partially in frame
- Artificially slow, robotic, or exaggerated movements
- Long pauses or idle time with no meaningful activity
- Repetitive recordings of the same task in the same setting
- Corrupted or incomplete files

You'll receive feedback if a recording isn't accepted so you can improve on future sessions.


**Who Should Apply**

- No degree or technical background required
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Access to a home or residential space where you can record
- A smartphone that records at 1080p / 30 FPS (most modern phones do)
- Comfortable being recorded from a first-person perspective. Your face will not appear on camera.
- Can commit to at least 4 to 8 hours of recording per week
- Reliable internet connection for uploading video files


**How to Apply**

*Step 1:* Send us a brief message with your name, city, phone model, and weekly availability.

*Step 2:* If shortlisted, we'll ask you to record a short 2-minute sample video of any household cleaning task using a head-mounted phone. Most people who submit a sample hear back within a few days.


**About the Data**

The video you record is used to train AI and robotics systems to understand how people interact with everyday objects and environments. Your recordings are handled confidentially and used solely for research and development purposes. Your face does not appear in the footage.
