Graphic Designer (Packaging & Print Design – Long-Term Role, Async)

About Us

We are BuildASoil, a premium soil and gardening brand focused on quality, transparency, and professional presentation.

We manufacture dozens of physical products that require labels and fully printed packaging bags.

Up until now, we have handled much of this design work in-house.

We are now looking for a skilled Graphic Designer who can take our existing assets and process, and help us move faster, cleaner, and more professionally.

This is a long-term, systems-based role working async with our Operations Manager.

No video calls required.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Updating existing product labels
• Designing new product labels using our brand guidelines
• Creating fully printed bag layouts
• Preparing files for professional printing
• Working with dielines and packaging templates
• Ensuring correct bleed, trim, margins, and color setup
• Making revisions based on printer feedback
• Improving consistency across product lines and revising older lines to be updated for consitency
• Organizing and maintaining design files

Our goal is to task projects out and receive back clean, professional, print-ready files that work perfectly with our printers.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with Adobe Illustrator (required)
• Experience with packaging and print design
• Understanding of:

Bleed and trim

CMYK color setup

Vector file preparation

Dielines

Prepress requirements
• Ability to follow brand guidelines
• Strong attention to detail
• Organized file management

Bonus:
• Experience with product packaging for physical goods
• Experience working directly with print vendors
• Ability to slightly elevate and improve designs while staying on-brand
