Geotechnical Engineer

We are an Australian-based professional services business seeking a reliable, long-term Geotechnical Engineer based in the Philippines to support our growing geotechnical team. This is a remote role offering ongoing work and close collaboration with Australian project engineers.

Role Overview:
The Geotechnical Engineer will primarily support the team through geotechnical assessments, technical report preparation, and design support for Australian projects. The role suits someone with strong technical fundamentals, excellent reporting skills, and familiarity (or willingness to learn) Australian Standards.

Key Responsibilities
1. Geotechnical Assessment & Reporting
Prepare high-quality geotechnical engineering reports, including:
Site investigation findings
Engineering analysis
Clear, practical recommendations
Review and interpret field and laboratory test data
Assist with geotechnical assessment of soil and rock conditions

Provide engineering input for:
Foundation design
Earthworks and site preparation
Excavations and ground support
Pavement and subgrade assessments
Ensure reports comply with relevant Australian Standards and project specifications
Collaborate remotely with Australian-based engineers and stakeholders
Support ongoing geotechnical tasks as directed by the project lead

2. Geotechnical Assessment & Design Support

Review and interpret geotechnical investigation data
Assess soil and rock conditions for proposed developments
Provide engineering recommendations for:
Foundation systems
Earthworks and site preparation
Pavement subgrade conditions
Excavation and ground support requirements

About You
Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline
Experience in geotechnical reporting and interpretation of investigation data
Strong written English skills, particularly for technical reports
Familiarity with Australian Standards is highly regarded (training can be provided)
Detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working remotely
