We offer our clients SEO, SEM, social and programmatic ad management services, supported by a strong focus on data integrity and reporting accuracy. Our team is passionate about helping clients understand and improve their digital performance through reliable, clear, and actionable insights.
We’re looking for a detail-focused and proactive Data Specialist to support our growth and maintain high reporting standards across the agency.
Objectives of this role
As a Data Specialist at Retain Media, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of reporting, tracking, and analytics across client accounts.

You will support the team by managing end-of-month reporting, auditing conversion tracking, troubleshooting data issues, and leading platform integrations. You’ll also contribute to internal reporting projects and help improve the way we use and share data.

This role involves technical setup and maintenance, collaboration across teams, and a strong commitment to data accuracy, clarity, and continuous improvement.

What you will be doing day-to-day
Managing end-of-month reporting for clients, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and timely delivery
Setting up, auditing, and maintaining conversion tracking across platforms like GA4 and GTM
Troubleshooting data and dashboard issues across Looker Studio, Agency Analytics, and other tools
Supporting client onboarding by validating tracking setups and connecting reporting platforms
Monitoring data health and proactively fixing issues before they affect reporting
Contributing to internal data projects and cross-team initiatives
Sharing relevant updates and changes across analytics platforms with the wider team
Continually improving internal processes and documentation for reporting and tracking
Ongoing learning and staying up to date with changes in digital analytics tools

Key Responsibilities
Data Accuracy & Reporting
Ensuring consistent and accurate reporting across all client accounts, with a focus on clear data presentation and actionable insights.
Tracking & Analytics Setup:
Setting up, auditing, and maintaining tracking systems (GA4, GTM, GSC, etc.) to capture key events and conversions across websites and platforms.
Dashboard Management
Building and maintaining client dashboards in platforms like Looker Studio and Agency Analytics, and resolving any data integration or display issues.
Platform Integration & Maintenance
Managing data transfers between reporting systems, troubleshooting syncing issues, and supporting internal tooling updates.
Performance Monitoring
Proactively monitoring metrics, identifying anomalies or data discrepancies, and collaborating with delivery teams to provide context and solutions.
Collaboration & Communication
Working closely with account managers, SEO, SEM, and social teams to ensure reliable tracking and performance reporting across campaigns.
Process Improvement
Contributing to the ongoing development of internal data processes, reporting frameworks, and documentation.
Learning & Adaptation
Keeping up with platform changes and industry best practices to help the team stay ahead and improve performance visibility.



In 30 days, you will
Be across Retain’s reporting processes and end-of-month workflow
Have supported at least one full end-of-month reporting cycle
Started basic audits and small tracking or dashboard tasks
Reviewed key process documentation and flagged any support or training needs
In 3 months:
Confidently manage end-of-month reporting with minimal oversight
Set up and audit tracking for new clients during onboarding
Regularly audit tracking and resolve discrepancies proactively
Independently troubleshoot dashboard issues across key platforms
Understand key metrics, reporting templates, and client priorities
Communicate clearly with internal teams on data issues and updates
Contribute to small cross-team data tasks and transfers
In 6 months:
Fully own end-of-month reporting activities
Maintain and optimise tracking to ensure data accuracy
Handle complex tracking and reporting fixes across platforms
Stay ahead of GA4, GTM, and other tool updates
Contribute to broader data and internal reporting projects
Manage time and tasks effectively, keeping stakeholders updated
Share relevant platform or industry updates with the team
In 12 months and beyond:
Be the agency’s go-to expert for data, tracking, and reporting
Own and refine internal processes for reporting and data quality
Lead improvements in reporting infrastructure and automation
Stay ahead of platform changes and guide internal updates
Scope and lead data projects that improve efficiency and insight
Build scalable tracking frameworks to support agency growth
Shape tracking strategies during client onboarding
Contribute to internal thought leadership around data
