JOB OVERVIEW

--- About Authority Solutions® ---

Authority Solutions® is a digital marketing agency specializing in Web Design, SEO (Search Engine Optimization), and AI-powered marketing technology that grows revenue for our clients. Founded in 2014, we've grown year over year and have worked with remote tea ---------- mbers in the Philippines since day one — they are core to who we are, not a side experiment.

We serve clients in the Medical, Legal, Ecommerce, and Home Services verticals, and we build our own technology to power how we deliver. We are a cutting-edge agency at the front edge of SEO and AI implementation, and we plan to grow aggressively over the next 12 months. This role is central to making that happen.

We are not a typical agency. We build our own tools. We use AI assistants and automation agents every day. We ship fast, iterate constantly, and expect every person on the team to own what they build. If you want a long-term home on a small, high-output team where your work directly drives the company forward — keep reading.

Why this role is different

Most agencies will hand you a ticket queue and a template to edit. We're handing you the keys.

You'll architect and build real software from a blank page, stand up the infrastructure it runs on, and wire together the systems that keep the business moving. You'll work directly with company leadership — not three layers of management — to understand the problem, then go solve it.

And here's the part that matters most for your career: you'll be building with the best AI development tooling available. Many talented engineers never get hands-on access to top-tier AI coding assistants and automation platforms. We use them daily, we pay for the good ones, and we'll put them in your hands on day one. If you're hungry to level up fast, this is where you do it — you'll leave this role a dramatically stronger engineer than you arrived.

This is not a side gig. We're hiring one person for the long haul — someone who wants to grow with us, take on more responsibility and compensation over time, and treat what they build as their own. If you're collecting short contracts on the side, this isn't the right fit, and that's okay. If you're looking for a place to plant roots and build a career, read on.

What you'll actually do

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role across three connected areas:

1. Build full-stack web applications from scratch. Design and ship production web apps end to end — database schema, API layer, frontend UI, authentication, and deployment. These are greenfield builds, not maintenance of someone else's code. You own the product from concept to live, then iterate based on how the team actually uses it.

2. Own the infrastructure and DevOps. Stand up environments, manage deployments across dev/staging/production, handle environment configuration and secrets properly, and keep what you ship observable, reliable, and recoverable. You're comfortable deploying and managing web properties programmatically and at scale, and you understand how to integrate a stack of external APIs into one coherent system.

3. Engineer business-critical automations. Design, build, and maintain multi-step automation workflows that move data reliably between platforms — CRMs, ecommerce systems, project management tools, communication channels, and spreadsheets. You build the plumbing so that data, events, and alerts flow correctly, with error handling that doesn't fail silently.

You will not be waiting for tickets. You'll be working with leadership to understand what needs to exist, then building it.

Who you are

You're a builder. You get energy from shipping things, not fro ---------- etings about shipping things.
You have integrity and you finish what you start. When you say it's done, it's done. When something breaks, you raise your hand early instead of hiding it.
You want a long-term home. You're looking to grow with one company over years, not stack short-term gigs.
You're comfortable with ambiguity. "Here's the problem — figure out the best solution" excites you rather than stresses you.
You context-switch well. You can write a React component in the morning and debug a webhook integration or a deployment issue in the afternoon.
You're a self-starter. You research, troubleshoot, and find answers independently before escalating. Documentation, search, and AI tools are your first line of defense.
You document and communicate. You write things down so others can maintain them, and you proactively share status — especially when something is blocked, broken, or behind.

--- Required technical skills ---

Full-Stack Development

React / Next.js — Building production web applications from scratch (not just editing templates).
TypeScript / JavaScript — Strong fundamentals, not copy-paste from search results.
Backend & databases (SQL/Postgres) — Schema design, relationships, indexing, and writing efficient queries. Experience with a modern backend-as-a-service platform (e.g., Supabase or Firebase) including auth, row-level security, and serverless functions is a strong plus.
REST APIs — Designing and consuming APIs, authentication patterns, pagination, and robust error handling. You should be comfortable integrating many third-party APIs into one system.
Tailwind CSS / responsive UI — Clean, responsive interfaces that work across screen sizes.

DevOps & Infrastructure

Deployment & environments — Confidently take an app from your machine to production: build step, environment configuration, deploy target, verification, and a rollback plan.
Environment variables & secrets — You never hardcode keys or commit secrets; you understand per-environment config.
Containers — Working understanding of Docker and why consistent environments matter ("works on my machine" is a problem you know how to eliminate).
Hosting platforms — Experience deploying and managing apps and web properties on modern platforms (e.g., Vercel, Render, Railway, or similar).
Git — Version-control discipline: feature branches, small meaningful commits, pull requests, not pushing straight to main.

Automation & Integration Engineering

Workflow automation (n8n or equivalent) — Multi-step workflows including webhooks, scheduled jobs, branching logic, data transformation, retries, idempotency, and error handling. (n8n, Make, Zapier, or custom code — what matters is you understand the patterns.)
Integrating SaaS platforms — Comfort connecting tools such as CRMs, ecommerce systems, project management, chat/messaging, and spreadsheets via their APIs and webhooks. You'll learn our specific stack quickly; the underlying skill is what we're hiring for.
Data integrity — Deduplication, reconciliation, audit logging, and handling edge cases and out-of-order events so the same thing never gets processed twice.

AI-Assisted Development

Baseline familiarity required — You've used AI coding assistants (such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot) and understand how to prompt them, validate their output, and use them to ship faster without losing track of what you're actually building.
Eagerness to go deep — You don't need elite-tier access today. We provide it, and we expect you to grow into power-user proficiency fast. Ability to evaluate and prototype AI-powered features is something you'll develop here with the best tools in the industry at your fingertips.

--- Nice-to-have (not required) ---

Experience deploying and managing large numbers of web properties or landing pages programmatically.
Familiarity with search-infrastructure concepts: indexing, sitemaps, structured data/schema, and how content gets discovered and ranked.
Building chatbots or conversational AI agents.
WordPress custom API integrations or plugin development.
Stripe or other payment-processing integrations.
Familiarity with SEO tools and marketing-technology platforms.
Experience modeling API costs at scale.

--- What success looks like ---

First 30 days

Onboarded to our systems and toolchain, including AI development tools.
Shipped at least one small tool or meaningful feature.
Taken ownership of and stabilized existing automation workflows.
Established a clear communication rhythm with leadership.

First 90 days

Your first full-stack application is in production and being used by the team.
Critical automations are documented, monitored, and running reliably.
You're proactively identifying and proposing improvements, not just executing.
You're operating independently on day-to-day priorities.

First 6 months

Multiple tools shipped and iterating based on real usage.
Infrastructure is reliable, observable, and well-documented.
You've become the team's go-to for "how should we build this?"
Your work has produced measurable time savings and operational improvements — and you're being trusted with bigger problems.

--- Core responsibilities ---

Application development

Build web applications (frontend + API + database + auth) from concept to production.
Own the full lifecycle: schema design, API development, UI, deployment, and ongoing iteration.
Write clean, maintainable, documented code. Ship working prototypes first, then polish based on feedback.

DevOps & reliability

Manage deployment across dev, staging, and production with verification and rollback.
Configure environments and manage secrets securely.
Keep systems observable — logging, status visibility, and alerting so problems surface fast.

Automation & integration

Design and deploy multi-step automation workflows that synchronize data across business platforms.
Implement robust error handling: retries, deduplication, dead-letter patterns, audit logging, and alerts on failure.
Establish reusable patterns with consistent naming, standardized building blocks, and clean environment-variable management.

Documentation & visibility

Document workflows, system architecture, and runbooks.
Build operational dashboards and status outputs so the team can see what's running.
Maintain mapping and integration documentation as systems grow.

Continuous improvement

Evaluate and recommend tools and processes that make the team faster.
Prototype new automation and AI-powered capabilities.

--- Soft skills that matter here ---

Self-directed problem solver — You exhaust documentation, search, and AI tools before escalating.
Time management — You show up on time, hit deadlines, and flag slippage early.
Strong written communication — You explain technical decisions clearly and write documentation others can follow.
Ownership mentality — If you built it, you own it. Bugs, performance, uptime — yours until it's handed off.

--- Work schedule & holidays ---

All staff work a split shift so we can collaborate and meet with US leadership on pertinent tasks.
We observe all US holidays as well as PH public holidays (New Year's Day, Lunar New Year, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Bataan Day, Labour Day, Philippine Independence Day, National Heroes' Day, Bonifacio Day, Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Christmas Day, Rizal Day). We work hard and we value time with family.
After a 90-day probationary period, all staff qualify for leave with proper notice per the employee handbook.

--- Compensation ---

Full-time, long-term position (this is a career role, not a contract gig).
Typical monthly earnings of roughly $1,700–$2,100 USD for this role, depending on demonstrated knowledge, technical ability, and experience — with room to earn more as you take on greater responsibility.
Performance-based increases as your scope and impact grow. We promote and pay from within as the company scales.

--- Perks & benefits ---

Elite AI development tooling, paid for by us — top-tier AI coding assistants and automation platforms most engineers never get to use. This is how you grow your skill set fastest.
Paid access to the development platforms and API subscriptions you'll build on.
Paid training and courses for professional development.
Direct access to company leadership — your ideas get heard and shipped fast.
The chance to architect and build products from the ground up, not maintain someone else's code.
A small team where your contributions are visible and valued.
A clear path to increased responsibility and compensation as we grow.

--- How to apply ---

Do not send a generic application. We will ignore it. We're looking for one person to grow with us long-term, and how you apply tells us a lot about how you work.

Please include:

A brief introduction (video recording) — Who you are, what you've built recently, and why a long-term role here interests you.
A link to your portfolio, GitHub, or shipped work — We want to see things you've actually built and deployed, not tutorial projects.
Your experience with AI-assisted development — Which tools you've used, how they fit into your workflow, and one specific example of how they helped you ship faster or better. (No elite-tier access yet? Tell us how you'd use it if you had it.)

One question about the role — This tells us you actually read the posting.

Applications that follow these instructions will be reviewed first.
