BarnesNest is a marketplace that connects homeowners, property managers, and contractors for home service projects. We are building a platform that helps users find trusted professionals, manage projects, communicate, and process payments securely.

Responsibilities

- Build and maintain marketplace features
- Develop frontend experiences using Next.js and React
- Build backend APIs and business logic
- Integrate Stripe Connect payment flows
- Improve contractor onboarding and verification workflows
- Build messaging, scheduling, bidding, and review systems
- Optimize user experience and conversion rates
- Troubleshoot bugs and improve platform performance
- Collaborate on product decisions and feature prioritization

Required Skills

- Strong experience with Next.js
- Strong experience with React
- Strong experience with Node.js
- Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
- REST API development
- Authentication and authorization
- Proficiency with Git and GitHub
- Strong written and verbal English communication

Preferred Skills

- Experience with marketplace platforms
- Experience with Stripe Connect
- Experience with real-time messaging systems
- SEO experience
- Mobile development experience
- Experience working at a startup
