About Athena

We’re building Athena — an AI-powered assistant that automates workflows for mortgage and property investment advisers. Athena helps advisers streamline client onboarding, compare financial products, and generate fully compliant advice using OpenAI, Zoho CRM, and OneDrive.

This is not a toy project. It’s the core system for a growing NZ-based mortgage advisory firm shifting toward investment finance. We’re looking for someone experienced, fast, and reliable to take Athena from vision to working MVP.

????????? Your Role: Full-Stack DevOps Engineer (MVP Build)
As our sole technical hire, you'll:

Build the MVP end-to-end using React, Node.js or Python

Integrate OpenAI APIs to create chat-based interfaces

Connect Zoho CRM and OneDrive via API for data/doc access

Build secure, scalable backend architecture (auth, storage, logging)

Set up CI/CD (GitHub Actions), deploy via Railway or AWS

Handle performance monitoring, feature shipping, and iterations

You’ll work directly with the founder and be the technical brain behind Athena’s launch.

? Must-Have Skills
OpenAI / GPT API Integration
Not just calling GPT, but making it context-aware, compliant, and useful

React + Node.js or Python (Full-Stack)
You know how to build fast UIs, secure backends, and glue it all together

API Integration Experience (OAuth, REST)
You’ve connected to third-party tools like Zoho, Google, Microsoft Graph, etc.

LangChain, Pinecone, Qdrant (vector DBs)

Microsoft Graph API / OneDrive experience

Supabase, Postgres, Prisma

GitHub CI/CD, Docker, Railway, AWS

Fintech or compliance systems experience

50 hrs/week – this is a high-output project

Must be responsive during NZ business hours (9am–6pm NZT)

Fully remote — but daily async updates required
