JOB OVERVIEW

Who we are:
We’re building the future of educational entertainment. Think “Pixar meets online learning”!
Now we need a talented web developer to help bring our interactive websites to life — for our internal branded projects, and for our clients. This is a part-time, async-friendly role with flexible hours to start, with the potential to grow into a long-term, full-time role as projects scale.

Who we're looking for:
A web developer with strong technical skills who can:
• Take project specs and turn them into clean, maintainable code
• Work within existing codebases while keeping things organized and tidy
• Build within Python-based and Go-based web applications with confidence (front-end code within these systems)
• Implement front-end features using HTMX and vanilla HTML/CSS/JS
• Communicate async with minimal hand-holding
• Iterate based on feedback and learn our preferences and processes
• Be available. Not "clocked-in" (that’s not the async way!) but responsive when needed

We want a long-term technical collaborator who:
• Writes code they're proud of
• Wants to be part of something special long-term (may of our tea ---------- mbers have been here for over 15 years!)
• Is willing to start on an ad-hoc basis as we grow (and as we build trust to assign you more tasks)

Tools & tech you'll use:
• HTML/CSS/JavaScript
• Python (for client applications)
• Golang (for client applications)
• HTMX (for client applications)
• Jekyll & Netlify (for websites)
• Framer (for websites)
• Rails (for select internal systems)

How to apply:
• Pick your best portfolio pieces. Things that demonstrate proficiency at your craft. Briefly describe what *you* did: what the problem was, how you solved it, and why you solved it that way. We ask this because we'd love to learn how you solve problems, and see the code that made that happen.
• Don't have relevant portfolio pieces? No problem, we'll share a short test with you so we can learn the same thing, as though you did.
• If we're a fit? We'll do a short Zoom if selected to discuss vision, financials, and goals.
• Start working on projects together if there's a mutual fit!

In your reply, please include:
• A link to your portfolio and/or a request for the short test (as above)
• A description of which of the above languages/platforms you have experience with
• Why you're interested in joining our team
• Your availability (hours per week and desired payment terms)
• Your preferred working style (e.g., pace of deliverables, feedback style)
• Use the subject line: Developer listing - FirstName LastName

Pay:
• Est $500–$2,000/month depending on skill, availability, and workload
• Ad-hoc needs to begin with (some weeks heavy, some light)
• The more tasks we have for you, and the better you're able to complete them, the more consistent the workload, and thus the more you will be able to earn with us.

If you have any questions, please reach out. Thank you!
