Our web-based platform offers AI-powered interactions and personalized communication to support users emotionally and socially. We are currently launching a groundbreaking product—a 24/7 AI Companion available via SMS and phone calls—designed to assist veterans dealing with chronic pain and emotional distress. This AI Companion provides daily check-ins, supportive conversations with the goal of improving well-being and reducing unnecessary hospital visits.

We are running a 3-month pilot with 50 high-frequency VA patients to assess impact on quality of life, pain levels, loneliness, and healthcare utilization.

**Job Summary:**

We’re looking for a talented **Front-End Developer (React.js)** to join our dynamic team and help build this next-generation AI product. You’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining robust, scalable web applications that offer seamless, high-impact user experiences. The ideal candidate has deep experience in React, a sharp design sense, and is passionate about building technology that makes a difference in people’s lives—especially in healthcare and mental well-being.

**Responsibilities:**

- Develop and maintain complex web applications using React.js.
- Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use.
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and implement them into functional code.
- Optimize components for maximum performance across a variety of devices and browsers.
- Collaborate closely with product, designers, back-end developers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality products.
- Stay updated on the latest trends, tools, and best practices in front-end development.
- Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code while following best coding practices.
- Debug and resolve front-end issues, optimizing performance where necessary.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve code quality.
- Ensure responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility of applications.
- Work with RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services as required.

**Requirements:**

- Proven experience as a Front-End Developer, with a focus on React.js.
- Expert-level knowledge of JavaScript, including ES6+ features.
- Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
- Experience with state management libraries such as Redux or Context API.
- Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools, such as Webpack, Babel, npm, etc.
- Strong experience with component-based architecture and single-page applications (SPAs).
- Understanding of version control systems such as Git.
- Experience working with RESTful APIs and asynchronous requests.
- Knowledge of browser rendering behavior and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with testing libraries like Jest, React Testing Library, or Enzyme.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

**Nice-to-Have Skills:**

- Familiarity with TypeScript and strong typing in JavaScript.
- Experience with front-end frameworks such as Next.js.
- Understanding of GraphQL and its integration with React applications.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and experience implementing accessible web applications.
- Familiarity with CSS-in-JS libraries such as Styled Components or Emotion.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Shortcut, Notion).
