About Us:
We are a purpose-driven organization based in the Netherlands, working primarily with public sector clients such as municipalities, healthcare institutions, and regional governments. Our digital tools help make information on websites accessible for people with low literacy skills — a pressing issue affecting over 3,3 million people in the Netherlands alone.
We are looking for a skilled and dependable WordPress developer with strong Elementor experience who can assist us with small development tasks on an as-needed basis. This is not a full-time position, but rather a long-term collaboration for minor fixes, updates, and improvements across several websites.
Who We Are Looking For:
You are an experienced WordPress developer with a problem-solving mindset and strong attention to detail. You’re confident in working with Elementor and have no trouble understanding how to maintain clean, stable, and responsive layouts. You communicate clearly, ask questions when needed, and can manage your time effectively.
Requirements:
- Strong experience with WordPress and Elementor (Pro)
- Able to build, edit, and troubleshoot Elementor-based pages
- Basic knowledge of CSS and HTML (JavaScript is a plus)
- Experience with updating plugins, maintaining stability, and handling small bugs
- Familiarity with website accessibility (WCAG) and performance best practices is a plus
- Comfortable using Slack for communication
- Can commit to responding to requests within 24 hours on weekdays
- Reliable internet connection and professional working setup
- Able to work independently and with minimal supervision
Typical Tasks:
- Updating and maintaining existing Elementor websites
- Creating new pages based on wireframes or designs
- Minor bug fixing (styling, responsiveness, functionality)
- Updating plugins/themes while minimizing downtime or risks
- Occasionally optimizing for speed or accessibility
- Providing support or advice on best practices
What We Offer:
- Long-term freelance collaboration
- Flexible working hours
- Remote work
- Direct contact with a small, experienced team via Slack
- A meaningful mission with social impact
- Competitive hourly rate, paid via Wise or PayPal
To Apply, please send us the following:
- A short introduction about yourself and your experience
- Links to 3 Elementor-based websites you have built or maintained
- Your hourly rate (USD)
- Your typical weekly availability (including which days/times you're usually online)
Optional but appreciated:
- Mention if you have experience with WCAG accessibility or performance optimization
- We’re looking for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and reliable. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
