Company Overview
FetchMe LLC is an Atlanta-based restaurant technology platform—the “Shopify for Restaurants”—powering ~200 merchants across 30 metros with an integrated delivery and catering operations layer. Currently at $3M ARR and actively raising a Series A, we are moving fast to build the best restaurant operating system while keeping costs low for our merchants. Our mission focuses on helping independent restaurants reclaim revenue from high-fee aggregators by giving them the tools to run their own high-margin delivery and catering channels.
Our finance operations span multi-market driver pay, complex merchant payment reconciliation, and the high-level reporting discipline required to be investor-ready. We run lean, move fast, and value operational efficiency.
Position Summary:
Type: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Location: Remote (Philippines)
Hours: U.S. Business Hours (significant CST overlap required; exact schedule has flexibility, but core availability during peak U.S. morning/afternoon hours is necessary for team alignment).
Reports to: Co-Founder / Chief Growth Officer (dotted line to CEO, Atlanta)
Compensation: $13–$17/hr, commensurate with experience (FTE ~$27K–$35K/year)
The Financial Controller is a hands-on role dedicated to owning the day-to-day accounting close and bringing extreme rigor to a high-transaction-volume, multi-market operation. This is an ownership seat for the books, reconciliations, and the strict controls required to keep them flawless. You will work directly with the founding team and have a highly visible impact on our Series A diligence readiness.
Core Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
Full Close Ownership: Run the entire month-end close cycle, including journal entries, accruals, and GL reconciliation.
Reporting Packages: Deliver a clean, accurate, and on-time monthly financial package.
Diligence Support: Prepare financial schedules and reconciliations that feed directly into board reporting and investor diligence.
2. High-Volume Reconciliation & Spend Management
Stripe / Payment Processing: Reconcile payments, refunds, and disputes across a growing merchant base (currently ~50 active merchants). Investigate and resolve all variances to zero.
Driver Payroll: Tie out our multi-market driver pay infrastructure (hourly guarantees and catering workbooks) before payroll runs through Everee. Enforce a strict zero-variance tie-out prior to platform upload.
Merchant Payouts: Reconcile merchant-level revenue, platform fees, and final payouts across all active markets; flag and resolve discrepancies immediately.
Corporate Spend Ownership: Manage and optimize our Ramp spend management platform—overseeing corporate card workflows, expense auto-coding, receipt compliance, and bill pay mapping.
3. Treasury, AP/AR, & Internal Controls
Cash Management: Maintain routine cash position reporting and assist the founders in tracking burn-rate metrics.
AP/AR: Manage vendor invoicing, corporate expenses, and receivables tracking.
Controls & Documentation: Build, maintain, and improve internal controls and process documentation to ensure the close process is repeatable and audit-ready.
Process Automation: Document manual workflows and actively look for opportunities to make them AI-enabled or automated, ensuring that money-movement steps always require human approval.
Candidate Qualifications
Must-Have Requirements
Experience: 3+ years in accounting/controller roles, ideally supporting a U.S.-based company.
GL Ownership: Demonstrated experience running an entire month-end close cycle independently, not just supporting it.
Software Proficiencies: Advanced, hands-on proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO), Ramp (or a closely comparable spend management / AP platform), and Advanced Excel (comfortable managing complex, multi-tab workbooks using advanced formulas, flags, and tie-out logic).
Transaction Volume: Proven experience managing high-volume data reconciliation (e.g., payment processors, payroll platforms, or gig-economy settlement systems).
AI Fluency: Actively leverages tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or similar to accelerate analysis, formula building, and reporting—while maintaining strong judgment around AI limitations and the need for human oversight on financial data.
Communication: C1/C2 level English with exceptional written and verbal skills for seamless collaboration with a U.S. founding team.
Infrastructure: A stable remote workspace with reliable internet and consistent availability for required U.S. CST overlap.
Nice-to-Have Attributes
Tech Stack Experience: Direct experience with Stripe, Everee (or similar payroll disbursement platforms), and Notion (where our core operational infrastructure lives).
ERP & Scaling: Exposure to NetSuite or similar ERPs, helpful for future migration as the company scales.
Automation Skills: Experience designing AI-assisted or automated workflows, prompt-driven reporting, or light scripting to eliminate manual close tasks.
Industry Background: Prior experience in high-growth SaaS, marketplaces, gig-economy platforms, logistics, or restaurant technology.
Benefits & Perks
Performance Bonus: Eligibility for performance-based bonuses tied to milestones like successful close cycles, audit readiness, and process efficiency.
Paid Time Off: Comprehensive PTO package aligned with observed US and PH holidays to ensure a balanced schedule.
Professional Development: Dedicated annual budget for accounting certifications, advanced software training, or technical workshops.
Schedule Flexibility: Enjoy some autonomy over your daily calendar, provided significant core CST collaboration hours are maintained.
What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)
Day 30: Fully up to speed on the internal Stripe, Everee, Ramp, and driver-pay workbooks. Successfully shadowing and taking over weekly reconciliations.
Day 60: Running the month-end close with minimal oversight and executing flawless, zero-variance driver pay tie-outs on every cycle.
Day 90: Fully owning the close process independently, delivering the financial package strictly on the calendar, and having proposed at least two concrete process improvements to existing controls.
