Part-time to start (with opportunity to grow into long-term role)
Industry: Interior Design, Real Estate, Lifestyle / Vlog
About the Role
I’m an interior designer and real estate creative launching a brand-new YouTube channel, and I’m looking for an experienced YouTube Video Editor & Channel Manager who understands how to edit for performance, retention, and growth—not just aesthetics.
This role is for someone who deeply understands the YouTube algorithm, knows how to structure long-form content (15–20 minutes) to keep viewers watching, and can help grow a channel strategically from the ground up.
You will be a key creative partner, not just an editor.
What You’ll Be Doing
Edit long-form YouTube videos (15–20 min) optimized for:
Viewer retention
Watch time
Engagement
Shape videos with strong pacing, storytelling, hooks, and pattern interrupts
Add dynamic B-roll, text, sound design, and subtle motion graphics where appropriate
Create or collaborate on high-converting YouTube thumbnails
Optimize videos for YouTube best practices (titles, pacing, structure)
Assist with channel strategy, performance feedback, and improvement ideas
Maintain consistent brand style and visual identity
(Optional but a plus) Assist with upload workflow and basic channel management
Required Experience (Important)
5+ years of experience editing YouTube videos
Proven experience editing long-form YouTube content that actually performs
Strong understanding of:
Audience retention
Hooks and openings (first 5–30 seconds)
YouTube pacing vs. cinematic pacing
Experience working with creators or brands (not just corporate videos)
Solid understanding of thumbnails that convert viewers to clicks
Comfortable receiving feedback and iterating strategically
Ideal Background & Style Fit
This channel will focus on:
Interior design
Real estate & short-term rentals
Business & creative lifestyle
Light vlog-style content mixed with education
Editors who enjoy clean, elevated, modern, and engaging content will be a great fit.
Some YouTube creators whose style, pacing, and quality I admire:
Vanessa Lau
Mark Rober
Robuilt
Studio McGee
Sophie Paterson
The Lifestyled Co
You don’t need to match these exactly—but your editing should feel intentional, smart, and algorithm-aware.
Software & Skills
Proficiency in Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci Resolve
Strong sense of timing, rhythm, and storytelling
Comfortable with color correction, audio cleanup, and text animation
Thumbnail design experience (Photoshop, Canva, etc.)
Organized workflow and reliable turnaround times
What I’m Looking For (Personality & Work Style)
Proactive and strategic thinker
Genuinely interested in YouTube growth (not just editing)
Detail-oriented and performance-driven
Open to collaboration and creative input
Looking for a long-term working relationship, not one-off gigs
How to Apply
Please include:
A brief introduction about you
Links to YouTube channels or videos you’ve edited (long-form only)
Your specific role in those projects
Any results you can share (views, growth, retention, etc.)
Your hourly or per-video rate
Your availability per week
Applications without relevant YouTube examples will not be considered.
If you’re passionate about YouTube growth, understand how to edit content that keeps people watching, and want to help build a channel from the ground up—I’d love to hear from you.
