Video Editor (Direct Response – Ecommerce Dog Supplement Brand)
We’re an ecommerce brand in the dog supplement space, and we’re looking for a direct response video editor who knows how to turn ideas into ads that actually convert.
This is NOT a traditional editing role.
We don’t need pretty edits — we need performance-driven creatives.
Important Context:
We don’t have a large library of original footage.
Your strength should be in sourcing, remixing, and building compelling visuals using:
Social media clips (TikTok, IG, YouTube)
B-rolls
AI-generated assets
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Turn scripts into high-converting video ads
- Visually communicate exactly what the script is saying (this is key)
- Source clips that match the story, pain points, and emotions in the script
- Use B-rolls and overlays to reinforce key claims and benefits
- Create multiple variations (hooks, angles, pacing) for testing
- Use AI tools to enhance production speed and creative output
What We Mean by “Direct Response Editor”:
- You don’t just edit… you translate persuasion into visuals.
If a script says:
“Your dog is silently suffering from joint pain…”
- You show subtle signs of pain, slower movement, emotional cues
If a script says:
“Within weeks, owners noticed their dogs running again…”
- You show transformation, energy, before/after contrast
You understand:
- Hooks = scroll stopping visuals
- Pain points = emotionally compelling clips
- Benefits = clear, believable outcomes
Your job is to make the viewer feel and believe the script, not just hear it.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong understanding of direct response / performance marketing
- Experience editing UGC-style ads
- Ability to match visuals to script messaging perfectly
- Skilled at sourcing and repurposing content
- Great instinct for pacing, hooks, and retention
- Comfortable using AI tools in your workflow
Tools You Might Be Using:
- CapCut / Premiere Pro / After Effects
- AI video tools (Runway, Pika, etc.)
- Voice AI (ElevenLabs or similar)
- ChatGPT or similar tools for ideation
- TikTok Creative Center / Meta Ad Library for research
