The Role
We’re looking for a Data Engineer who’s passionate about turning messy data into clean, scalable, and insightful systems.
You’ll work directly with the founder and analytics engineers to design, build, and optimize modern data pipelines using Databricks, PySpark, and (ideally) Microsoft Fabric.
This role starts part-time (10–20 hours/week) with the potential to grow into a full-time lead engineering role as we scale.
---
What You’ll Do
Build & Optimize Pipelines: Develop ETL/ELT workflows in Databricks (PySpark, SQL, Delta Lake).
Data Modeling: Design and maintain robust data models for analytics and BI reporting.
Integration: Connect and transform data from APIs, databases, and cloud storage (Azure, SharePoint, etc.).
Automation: Write scalable, reusable scripts for data ingestion and transformation.
Collaboration: Work with analytics and Power BI teams to ensure clean, well-modeled data for dashboards.
Performance Tuning: Optimize Spark and SQL jobs for speed, cost, and reliability.
Documentation: Maintain clear technical documentation of data flows, schema changes, and architecture.
(Nice-to-Have): Experience with Microsoft Fabric Dataflows, Synapse, or Power BI Dataset pipelines.
---
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience with Databricks (SQL & PySpark).
Solid understanding of Spark, Delta Lake, and modern data lake architecture.
Strong in SQL, Python, and version control (Git).
Familiar with Azure ecosystem (Storage, ADLS, Service Principal auth).
Bonus: exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, or Dataflows Gen2.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Self-starter, problem solver, entrepreneurial mindset.
---
Why Join Us
Impact: You’ll help build scalable data foundations that power real executive decision-making.
Growth: Start part-time and grow into a senior or lead engineering position.
Innovation: Work with cutting-edge tools (Databricks, Fabric, Sigma, OpenAI).
Collaboration: Join a small, high-performing team that values creativity and clarity.
Flexibility: 100% remote with flexible hours and autonomy.

How to Apply
Send your resume, portfolio, or GitHub/Databricks repo showing recent work.
If you’ve built something you’re proud of (pipelines, models, notebooks)—we’d love to see it.
