Conversion & Monetization Engineer (AI SaaS)
About Us
NinjaChat is a fast-growing AI SaaS platform with strong SEO-driven top-of-funnel growth (1,500+ free signups per day). Our biggest opportunity is improving activation, monetization, and conversion from free users to paid customers.
This role is not a VA role and not a pure marketing role. This role owns conversion outcomes.
Role Overview
We are hiring a Conversion & Monetization Engineer to directly improve onboarding, paywalls, pricing logic, and trial flows. You will work closely with the founder and growth team to ship fast experiments that turn free users into paying customers.
This role requires strong execution speed, product intuition, and comfort making decisions with incomplete data.
Responsibilities
Onboarding & Activation
- Improve first-session experience to reach user “aha”
- Reduce friction in signup and onboarding flows
- Design and implement in-app prompts, modals, and nudges
- Optimize time-to-value for new users
Paywall, Pricing & Monetization
- Design and implement paywall logic and gating
- Test pricing, packaging, and trial structures

- Reduce abuse while preserving user trust
- Improve free-to-paid conversion within first 24–72 hours
Experimentation & Funnel Optimization
- Implement A/B tests quickly (not just plan them)
- Work with PostHog data to identify drop-offs
- Turn insights into shipped changes within days, not weeks
- Measure impact on conversion and revenue
Collaboration
- Work closely with Growth & Influencer Ops on insights and experiments
- Communicate results clearly and regularly
- Take ownership of monetization performance
Required Qualifications
- Strong frontend or full-stack engineering experience
- Experience working on SaaS products, funnels, or paywalls
- Comfortable running and implementing A/B tests
- Data-driven mindset (PostHog or similar tools)
- Ability to move fast and ship frequently
- Strong written English and clear communication
Nice to Have
- Experience with subscription products
- Stripe billing or checkout experience
- Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) background
- Experience with AI or developer tools
- Familiarity with lifecycle

- Monthly pay: $1,500–$3,000 USD (based on experience)
