Content Writer

GIGCMO LTD is looking for a Content Writer to support the Canadian Indigenous Investment Forum (CIIF), a year-round investment forum connecting Indigenous-led businesses and communities with institutional investors across the UK, Europe, and North America. The role also involves supporting content initiatives across our other client brands as needed.

To be considered for the role, you should:
- Be comfortable writing about finance, current events, and history, with a genuine interest in international news. Think Bloomberg or Financial Times.
- Have experience writing across a variety of formats. We particularly value long-form work such as case studies, opinion pieces, and newsletters, alongside short-form content like social media posts, photo captions, and infographics.
- Know how to interpret data and use it to tell a story. You don't need to be an analyst, but you should be confident enough to draw insights from numbers and shape it into something readable.
- Take an audience-centric approach to writing. That means researching who you're writing for, understanding their interests and concerns deeply, and producing content that speaks to them.
- Develop fresh content ideas and editorial plans independently and proactively. You'll contribute to content calendars and other editorial planning activities, and we value someone who can bring ideas to the table rather than waiting for them.
- Be a team player. You'll collaborate closely with creatives, other writers, web developers, and others across a cross-functional team.
- Be willing to learn and use new tools. We work with HubSpot and a range of other tools and platforms, and we want someone curious enough to pick them up quickly.

Qualifications
- A degree in journalism, creative writing, communications, or literature is preferred but not required.
- Strong editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to self-edit and tighten your own drafts.
- Familiarity with SEO and on-page optimisation.
- A strong portfolio of written work.
- Comfortable working UK hours (3 pm – 12 am Philippine time).
