Role Overview

We’re seeking a Systems Engineer with MSP experience who can design, deploy, and maintain client environments across Microsoft 365, Azure, and modern security platforms. This role will be integral to supporting our growing client base, managing infrastructure, improving security posture, and enabling business continuity through proactive system management.

Key Responsibilities
• Cloud Infrastructure & Endpoint Management
• Deploy, configure, and manage Microsoft 365 tenants, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Intune, Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), and Defender XDR.
• Implement device compliance, conditional access, and security baselines using Microsoft Intune.
• Manage and secure remote and hybrid environments using SuperOps RMM, Acronis, and Keeper Security.
• Automate tasks via PowerShell and policy scripting for repeatable deployments.
• Security Operations & Compliance
• Respond to security alerts, email threats, and adversary activity using Microsoft Defender XDR and Avanan.
• Participate in vulnerability remediation, patch management, and baseline enforcement.
• Assist in client cybersecurity assessments (HIPAA, SOC 2, CMMC) with guidance from the vCISO.
• Support 24/7 SOC handoff processes and collaborate with MDR vendors (e.g., SentinelOne, Huntress) when needed.
• Support & Escalations
• Triage L2/L3 escalations from SuperOps Helpdesk and perform deep-dive troubleshooting across client endpoints and servers.
• Provide end-user support for email, endpoint, access, VPN, VoIP (Zoom Phones), and mobile device issues.
• Interface with vendors (e.g., Pax8, Milner, Microsoft Support) for license and support escalations.
• Infrastructure Projects & Migrations
• Lead Microsoft 365 migrations, email system conversions, and new client onboarding projects.
• Deploy and support network and firewall solutions (Cisco Meraki, Unifi, Harmony SASE).
• Participate in IT assessments and contribute to strategic client roadmaps and upgrade plans.

Required Skills & Experience
• 3+ years in a Systems Engineer or similar role at an MSP or IT consultancy.
• Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Intune, and Entra ID.
• Strong grasp of endpoint protection, email security, patching, and cloud identity.
• Familiarity with remote monitoring tools like SuperOps or similar (NinjaOne, N-Able, etc.).
• Intermediate knowledge of PowerShell scripting for automation and reporting.
• Understanding of modern cybersecurity threats and frameworks (NIST, HIPAA, etc.).
• Ability to manage multiple clients, prioritize work, and communicate with business owners.

Preferred (Nice to Have)
• Certifications: MS-102, AZ-104, Security+, CISSP, or equivalent.
• Experience with Acronis Cyber Protect, Zoom Phone, Avanan, or SentinelOne.
• Familiarity with compliance projects or HIPAA gap assessments.
• Experience supporting non-desk/field employees (frontline support) using cloud workflows.
