JOB OVERVIEW

Sales Development Representative (SDR) - SimpleApply.ai

About SimpleApply
SimpleApply is the application infrastructure layer for career services. We find, match, and apply to relevant roles on behalf of job seekers directly on company ATS platforms (Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, and others). Everything runs fully automated in the background with zero involvement from the candidate.

We went from 0 to 80+ career coaches, bootcamps, and institutions in 100 days. We also power the apply layer for several platforms through our API and work across 50+ countries. Over 85% of active users land interviews each month. We're growing fast and need someone to own the outbound pipeline.

The Role
You'll be our first dedicated SDR. This is a contract position with the goal of moving to full-time and eventually leading the sales development function as we scale.

Your job is to build and manage the outbound pipeline to career coaches, bootcamps, universities, outplacement firms, and reverse recruiting agencies. LinkedIn and email are the primary channels. This is not a cold calling role.

You won't be reading from a script. Our ICP cares about outcomes, not features. You'll need to understand each prospect's business model, identify where their clients struggle with applications, and position SimpleApply as the infrastructure that solves it.

What You'll Do

Content Engagement
This is where deals start. Before you ever DM a prospect, they should recognize your name from their comments section.
Engage with prospect content in a way that adds value, not generic reactions
Build familiarity so when the DM arrives, it doesn't feel cold

Outbound Prospecting

Identify and research career coaches, bootcamps, universities, outplacement firms, and reverse recruiting agencies
Run personalized outbound sequences via LinkedIn DMs, connection requests, InMail, and email
Personalize every touchpoint based on the prospect's niche, client type, and business model
Manage follow-up sequences with different angles per touch (proof, insight, loss aversion, peer reference)
Leverage automations for email and LinkedIn flows while maintaining personalization

Pipeline Management

Book 25-30 qualified walkthrough calls per month for the founding team
Track and manage all prospect conversations across LinkedIn, email, and CRM
Maintain accurate pipeline data and follow-up cadences
Qualify prospects on fit before booking (details below)
Follow up on warm inbound signals: free signups, post engagement, content interactions

Market Intelligence

Monitor LinkedIn for new ICP prospects (coaches launching practices, bootcamp career services hires, outplacement expansions)
Track competitor activity and positioning
Surface conference and event opportunities where ICP concentrates
Flag high-value enterprise prospects (large coaching firms, outplacement companies, university career centers)

Who You Are
1-2 years in an SDR, BDR, or outbound sales role (SaaS preferred, not required)
Comfortable with LinkedIn as a primary outreach channel
Strong written communication. Every DM you send represents the CEO's voice
Familiar with Alex Hormozi's frameworks ($100M Offers, $100M Leads). Our entire outreach strategy is built on the Value Equation and you'll apply it to every message
Experience with CRM tools and pipeline management
Comfortable building and leveraging automations for outbound flows
Curious about the career coaching and job search industry
Self-directed. Playbooks exist but you'll have room to experiment and improve them
Your LinkedIn profile is polished and credible. It's your primary sales tool in this role

Nice to Have
Experience selling to career coaches, consultants, or service-based businesses
Understanding of ATS platforms (Workday, Greenhouse, Lever)
Experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator
Background in career services, recruiting, or HR tech

What You Should Know About the ICP
Our buyers are not traditional SaaS buyers. They're small business owners, career services professionals, and institutional leaders. Key things to understand:

Career coaches run small businesses with 1-30 clients at a time. They care about client outcomes, not software features. The pitch is about revenue and results, not technology.

Anti-applying coaches publicly brand themselves as "land jobs without applying." They're actually your best prospects. SimpleApply makes their marketing true. Their clients never touch an application.

Outplacement firms need speed to reemployment. Their clients are in active transition and every day without interviews is a day wasted.

Bootcamps and universities need placement rates for accreditation and marketing. Job placement is their core metric.

Reverse recruiting agencies are doing manual applications at scale with VAs. SimpleApply replaces that at a fraction of the cost.
What "Qualified" Means

A booked walkthrough counts when:
The prospect has active clients who are job searching
Their clients are in a geography we cover (US, Canada, UK, Europe primarily)
They have enough client volume to justify a seat (3+ clients minimum)
The prospect showed up to the call

Compensation
Contract rate based on experience, $750 - $1500 each month, plus bonuses for qualified walkthroughs booked and closed deals. The goal is to move to full-time with a clear path to leading the sales development function as we scale.

Why This Role
First SDR hire. You're building the function, not filling a seat.
Direct access to both co-founders daily.
Path to full-time and sales leadership as we scale the team.
Product that demonstrably works: 85%+ monthly interview rate, 80+ coaches signed in 100 days.
You're joining at the inflection point.
