Job Overview:
The Assistant Property Manager is responsible for supporting after-hours operations of a growing residential property portfolio, ensuring properties are well-maintained, tenants are well-served, and operations run smoothly. This role reports directly to the Property Manager and serves as the primary point of contact for tenants, vendors, and internal stakeholders after hours across both single-family and co-living (PadSplit) properties.
This position focuses on after-hours tenant communication, maintenance coordination, back-office administrative support, and property accounting tasks during slower after-hours periods. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, clear communication, and a customer-first mindset to every interaction. Most importantly, this person takes ownership of their responsibilities and consistently delivers results in a fast-paced, remote environment.
Role Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary after-hours point of contact for tenant inquiries and concerns, ensuring timely and professional communication
- Receive, document, and triage maintenance requests submitted after hours
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors to schedule and follow up on after-hours or next-day repairs
- Submit and process maintenance invoices and related documentation accurately
- Verify that property photos are current, accurate, and meet company standards
- Update and maintain internal spreadsheets and property records
- Maintain accurate maintenance records within the property management system
- Support day-to-day back-office administrative tasks as directed by the Property Manager
- Process and reconcile rent payments, invoices, and vendor bills using PayProp
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable tasks during after-hours downtime
- Flag and escalate accounting discrepancies to the Property Manager
Skills Needed:
- Minimum 1 year of property management experience, Required
- Proven experience in tenant relations and maintenance coordination, Required
- Basic accounting or bookkeeping experience, Preffered
- Proficiency with PadSplit, Preffered
- Experience with PayProp, Preferred
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills, Required
- Excellent customer service, problem-solving, and relationship management abilities, Required
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities, Required
- Proficient in Google Suite and property management software platforms, Required
- Experience managing residential rental properties, Preferred
- Experience with affordable housing, shared housing, or co-living environments, Preferred
Compensation:
- $5.00 – $10.00 USD Per Hour, depending on experience
- Full-Time Position (40 hrs/week)
- Remote Position
- Work Schedule: Monday–Friday | 5:00 PM – 1:00 AM CST
