JOB OVERVIEW

THE COMPANY
We are a web design agency that builds high-quality professional websites for established businesses across the United States. Our clients are business owners in industries like roofing, HVAC, construction, med spas, chiropractic, and other high-ticket service businesses. These are not startups — they are existing businesses that are already making money and ready to invest in their online presence.
We are growing fast and looking for a driven, organized, and persistent appointment setter to join our team remotely.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Your primary job is to find potential clients and get them on a call with our sales team. You own the entire top of the funnel — from finding the lead to booking the appointment.
Lead Generation:

Research US-based businesses in target industries using Google, Yelp, Google Maps, and similar tools
Build your own lead list daily — roofing companies, HVAC companies, contractors, med spas, chiropractors, electricians, plumbers, and similar established service businesses
Identify businesses that already have revenue but have a weak or outdated online presence
Track all leads in a shared Google Sheet — business name, owner name, phone, website, industry, call status, notes

Cold Calling:

Make outbound calls to business owners during US business hours
Follow a proven script — we will provide it
Qualify leads — are they an established business with revenue? Do they have a weak website or no website? Are they open to improving their online presence?
Handle objections confidently and professionally
Book qualified appointments on our sales rep's calendar using a scheduling tool

Follow-Up:

Follow up with leads who did not answer on the first attempt — minimum 3 attempts per lead before marking as no contact
Send follow-up texts or emails to warm leads after initial contact
Re-engage old leads who were interested but did not book
Keep your lead tracker updated in real time — every call logged, every outcome noted

Additional Responsibilities:

Research competitor websites for industries you are calling so you can speak intelligently about what a better website would do for them
Flag any leads who seem especially hot to the sales team immediately
Suggest new industries or niches to target based on what you are seeing in the market
Help build and refine the script over time based on what objections come up most

WHO THIS IS FOR
This person is the right fit if they:

Have done cold calling or outbound sales before and are not afraid of rejection
Are extremely organized — you live in your spreadsheet and your calendar
Communicate clearly and professionally in English — written and spoken
Are self-motivated — you do not need someone to tell you to make calls
Are comfortable finding their own leads from scratch every day
Have reliable internet and a quiet place to work
Are available during US business hours — at minimum 9am to 5pm in at least one US time zone

WHO THIS IS NOT FOR
Do not apply if:

You have never made cold calls before and are not willing to learn fast
You need someone to hand you a list every day
You are looking for a passive or low-effort role
You give up after one or two rejections
Your English is not strong enough to have a confident business conversation

COMPENSATION

Base pay: $3–$5 per hour depending on experience
Performance bonus: $10 per qualified appointment that shows up to the call. High performers can receive more than this.
Commission opportunity: For top performers who can eventually close deals independently, commission of up to $200 per closed website deal
This role has room to grow — the right person can move from setter to closer

WHAT A GREAT DAY LOOKS LIKE

100+ calls made daily
5–10 qualified appointments booked daily
Every call logged with outcome and notes
Follow-ups sent to all warm leads from the week prior
Lead tracker fully up to date by end of Friday

HOW TO APPLY
To be considered you must do the following exactly — applications that do not follow these instructions will not be reviewed.

Start your application with the subject line or first line: "MALIBU READY"
Write 3–5 sentences about your cold calling experience — be specific, not general
Tell us what industry you would target first and why
Tell us what you would say in the first 10 seconds of a cold call to a roofing company owner
Include your resume or work history

Applications that do not start with "MALIBU READY" will be automatically filtered out. This is intentional. It tells us you read carefully and follow instructions — two things this job requires every single day.

ADDITIONAL TASKS THIS SAME PERSON CAN OWN
Here's everything else you can stack onto this role that a good appointment setter can handle without it becoming a different job:

CRM data entry — logging all calls, outcomes, and follow-ups into a shared sheet or CRM tool
Prospect research — building lead lists for new industries or cities before calling begins

Email
outreach — sending cold emails to businesses that didn't answer the phone, following a template
Social media lead gen — finding business owners through Facebook groups, Instagram, or LinkedIn who might be a fit
Script testing — trying different openers and reporting back what gets the best response rate
Appointment confirmation — texting or emailing booked leads 24 hours before their appointment to reduce no-shows
No-show re-engagement — calling back people who missed their appointment to reschedule
Competitor research — identifying businesses in each niche with bad websites and flagging them as priority targets
Weekly reporting — sending a simple end-of-week report: calls made, appointments booked, no contacts, follow-ups pending
