ABOUT Financial Literacy Basics

Financial Literacy Basics is a financial planning and education firm operating under the financial planning and education brand. We design retirement and wealth plans built to last — plans grounded in structural analysis, real math, and risks most advisors never address. We work with people at every stage of their financial journey who want to make sure their money is working as hard as they are.

We are not a traditional financial advisory/planning firm. We are plan architectural engineers. Our work identifies the gaps, the blind spots, and the structural weaknesses in a client's current approach — and we build the framework to fix them.

THE ROLE

We are looking for motivated, self-directed individuals to join Financial Literacy Basics as Appointment Setters. Your role has two clear objectives: connect with prospective clients by phone, schedule a 20-minute discovery call with our lead planner, and collect basic financial profile data so the architect can make the most of that conversation.

You do not need a financial background. You do not need sales experience. You need confidence on the phone, the discipline to make calls consistently, and the professionalism to represent the Financial Literacy Basics brand with integrity.

This is a door-opening role. You are the first impression and the intake point. Your success is measured by two things: qualified appointments booked and prospect data collected accurately.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Make outbound cold calls to prospective clients using a provided script and contact list
• Deliver the Financial Literacy Basics opening script with consistency, confidence, and professionalism
• Handle common objections using trained responses and redirect to appointment booking
• Schedule 20-minute discovery calls between prospects and the Financial Literacy Basics lead architect
• Collect basic financial profile data from each booked prospect — years to retirement, investable asset range, advisor status, and primary financial concern
• Submit completed prospect data forms to the lead architect prior to each scheduled call
• Leave professional voicemails and follow up with prospects on callback commitments
• Log all call activity daily — dials, contacts, outcomes, appointments booked, and data collected
• Maintain a minimum of 100 dials per day; target 100–300 using power dialer tools
• Participate in brief weekly check-in calls to review performance and refine approach

WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT

This is strictly an appointment-setting and data collection role. You are not expected to discuss financial strategy, investment products, market conditions, or any aspect of retirement planning. If a prospect asks detailed financial questions, your response is: "That's exactly what the call is for — I'll let our lead architect walk you through it."

• You will NOT provide financial advice or discuss investment strategies
• You will NOT present or explain the Financial Literacy Basics plan methodology
• You will NOT represent yourself as a financial advisor or planner
• You will NOT make promises about outcomes, returns, or specific plan recommendations
• You will NOT discuss fees or pricing — that is handled by the lead architect

DATA COLLECTION RESPONSIBILITY

Once a prospect agrees to a call and confirms their email, you will collect four data points before ending the conversation. This takes approximately 60 seconds and is framed as helping the planner prepare — which it does.

Data Point Why It Matters
Years to Retirement Determines planning horizon and urgency — shapes the entire architecture framework
Has a Financial Advisor? Sets context for how the discovery call is framed — additive vs. first-time planning
Investable Asset Range Establishes whether the prospect is qualified and helps architect tailor the conversation
Primary Financial Concern Market risk, income, inflation, or legacy — allows architect to lead with what matters most to them

If a prospect declines to answer, do not push. Note it as "declined" and move on. The appointment is always the priority — data collection is secondary.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required
• Comfortable and confident speaking on the phone with strangers
• Self-motivated — able to work independently without daily supervision
• Disciplined — able to maintain 50+ dials per day consistently
• Detail-oriented — able to accurately capture and submit prospect data after each booking
• Reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional calling environment
• Basic computer skills — email, calendar scheduling, simple spreadsheets or forms
• Professional demeanor and clear verbal communication

Preferred (Not Required)
• Prior experience in cold calling, telemarketing, or phone-based sales
• Background in insurance, annuities, or any financial services outreach
• Experience using a CRM or power dialer platform (CloudTalk, HubSpot, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to handle rejection and maintain a positive, consistent approach

COMPENSATION STRUCTURE

Trial Period:
Week 1 and 2: $35 per qualified appointment — no retainer
Week 3 and 4: $40 per qualified appointment — no retainer

Continuous Offer:
Monthly Retainer $1000 – $3000 (based on performance, experience and availability) + $35-$40 per qualified appointment

Per Qualified Appointment Bonus paid per appointment that is confirmed, shows, and includes collected data
Definition of Qualified Prospect confirmed the call, provided contact info, attended the 20-minute discovery call, and basic data was collected prior
Payment Schedule Monthly — net 15 following the close of the calendar month
Classification Independent Contractor — 1099 issued annually

Compensation details are finalized during the offer conversation. High performers who demonstrate consistency, data accuracy, and brand alignment will be considered for advancement with expanded responsibilities and increased earning potential.

GROWTH PATH

Financial Literacy Basics is building a distribution network. This role is the entry point. Strong performers advance through three stages — all based on performance, not time.

1 Appointment Setter Script-driven outreach. Book the call. Collect prospect data. Nothing more.
2 Junior Financial Planner Learn the Financial Literacy Basics language and methodology firsthand. Learn basic financial planning and budgeting.
3 Senior Financial Planner Present the plan framework to prospects with architect support. Expanded compensation and responsibility.

HOW TO APPLY

Send a brief introduction — no resume required — that answers the following three questions:

• Tell us about a time you had to persuade someone or handle pushback in a conversation.
• What does your current daily schedule look like and how many hours can you commit to this role?
• Have you ever made cold calls or done phone-based outreach? If yes, describe the context.
