Advanced OpenAI API/RAG Developer

OpenAI API / RAG Developer Needed — Laravel + Vue.js Project
Looking for the best of the best developers. You will be working next to me, the CTO, on this project and open a door to being our Senior Engineer/Lead Developer or other possibilities.

If either of these assignments seems complicated, unfamiliar, or like it would take you substantial time, please do not apply. A qualified developer for this role should be able to build both of these from scratch in roughly an hour. I am not interested in paying someone to learn these tools from zero.

I can help with project-specific details once we begin, but you will be helping develop an ongoing production project that depends on these foundations over the next couple months. There is potential for a full-time development position based on performance.

Assignment 1 — RAG AI Agent Demo
Provide either:
A live demo,
A sendable locally hostable demo,
Or a past project demo you have already built.

The demo should show a basic RAG AI agent. Preferably, it should read a PDF and provide accurate RAG-based answers about the PDF contents.
I can provide an OpenAI API key if needed.

Assignment 2 — Live Context Switching Chatbot Demo
Provide a short demo of a chatbot where the bot context can be changed live using a UI button.
The same API connection and the same stored single-session chat history should remain active, but the bot’s live context should switch and affect the AI/tool-call output.

Initial context:
My favorite color is red.
Tool output:
Red

Then the user clicks a context switch button.

New context:
My favorite food is green apples because I love green.
Tool output:
Green

The purpose of this assignment is to show that you understand live context switching, session chat history, and AI tool-call behavior inside the same active session.
I can provide an OpenAI API key if needed.

We are hiring a developer for an ongoing OpenAI API related project. This is not a beginner project. We need someone who already understands RAG, OpenAI API workflows, tool calls, context handling, and practical web app integration.

Our application is built with Laravel, PHP, Vue.js, JavaScript, and HTML5. Experience with PHP and JavaScript/HTML5 is mandatory. Laravel experience is highly preferred. Vue.js experience is preferred, but a strong JavaScript developer should be able to adapt quickly.

This project may require direct use of the OpenAI REST API instead of relying only on OpenAI SDKs.
