We're not hiring a traditional VA. We're hiring an operator.
If you're here to manage calendars, inboxes, or coordinate meetings, this isn't the role. Those are solved problems. We need someone who builds machines, not someone who executes tasks.
What we're actually solving for:
We need an AI-native operator who can take ambiguous business challenges and architect scalable systems that fundamentally change how we operate. You'll own projects end-to-end, design workflows from scratch, implement real automations, and think in terms of leverage and multipliers.
This isn't about supporting the business. It's about rebuilding how the business runs.
What this role actually is:
- Systems architect, not task manager. You design operational infrastructure that scales.
- Project owner, not coordinator. You take fuzzy problems and turn them into functioning systems without hand-holding.
- Builder, not executor. You implement automations, iterate on workflows, and create leverage through technology.
- Problem solver, not assistant. You identify bottlenecks and engineer solutions that compound over time.
You should be fluent in AI tools (not just familiar, fluent). You should think in systems, feedback loops, and automation-first design. You should be able to take a 30-minute conversation and walk away with a blueprint that didn't exist before.
This is the wrong role for you if:
- You're looking for a traditional VA or admin support position
- You need detailed instruction to execute
- You think of yourself as "helping with tasks"
- You're not deeply embedded in AI-native workflows already
This is the right role for you if:
- You've built operational systems from zero before
- You default to "how can this run without me" instead of "how do I do this faster"
- You can translate ambiguous strategy into concrete architecture
- You view AI as infrastructure, not a productivity hack
- You've designed and implemented automations that eliminated entire categories of work
What we're looking for:
- Proven ability to own and ship projects independently. Show us what you've built
- Deep fluency with AI tools and automation platforms (we want to see your stack)
- Systems thinking and operational design experience
- Track record of creating leverage, not just completing work
- Ability to work in ambiguity and create structure where none exists
Please write the word pineapple at the beginning of your cover letter. Answer the following questions (no AI answers please):
- A system you built. What problem did it solve? What was the architecture? What was the outcome?
- Your AI stack. What tools do you use daily? How do you use them to create leverage?
- How you think. Given a messy, undefined business problem, walk us through how you'd approach turning it into a functioning system.
- Give me a situation where the plan was unclear and you had to create the plan.
- If 8 tasks hit at once, how do you d
