Position Summary
Proactive is building a new global AI-enabled news desk and we are looking for financially literate reporters who can write fast, think clearly and work confidently alongside AI production tools. You will cover breaking news on UK, North American and ASX-listed companies, with a focus on junior resources, biotech, energy and small-cap growth stocks. You understand why company news moves share prices – and you can explain it to investors clearly and quickly.

Principal Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Reporting to the Managing Editor, the News Writer / Journalist will:
- Write fast, accurate and engaging news articles covering UK, North American and ASX-listed public companies
- Utilise Proactive’s proprietary NewsifAI™ tools and other AI production platforms to enhance speed and output quality
- Monitor RNS, newswire and exchange announcements across global markets during assigned shift hours
- Identify and communicate why company news moves share prices, with a focus on junior resources, biotech, energy and small-cap growth stocks
- Ensure all content meets Proactive editorial standards for accuracy, clarity and SEO performance
- Maintain strong social media literacy, supporting distribution of content across digital channels
- Meet daily output targets and deadlines in a fast-paced, remote newsroom environment

Person Specification – Skills and Experience Required
- 2+ years of reporting experience covering public companies or financial markets (or a journalism degree for entry-level applicants)
- Familiarity with AI tools including large language models (LLMs) and AI-assisted writing platforms
- Strong written English – fast, clear and investor-focused
- Social media literacy and understanding of digital content distribution
- SEO awareness and understanding of how to optimise financial news content
- Knowledge of the resources sector (mining, energy, metals) is a significant advantage
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment across time zones
