Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized Authorization & Credentialing Specialist to manage end-to-end workflows for client authorizations and provider enrollments. This role supports multiple ABA and behavioral health practices, coordinating directly with payers, providers, and internal billing teams to ensure timely submissions and approvals.
Key Responsibilities
Authorizations
Verify insurance requirements and preauthorization needs for services (e.g., 97151, 97153, 97155, 97156).
Submit new and renewal authorization requests via payer portals (e.g., Availity, Carelon, Optum, Cigna, Magellan, Aetna, Tricare, Medicaid).
Track status updates, approvals, and expirations using RealTex’s shared tracker system.
Communicate authorization outcomes to the billing and client teams promptly.
Maintain clear documentation of all communications and payer correspondence.
Follow up on pending or denied authorizations, ensuring timely resolution.
Credentialing
Manage provider enrollment and revalidation with commercial and Medicaid payers.
Complete CAQH setup/maintenance and ensure profiles remain active and up to date.
Track applications, follow up with payers, and update internal dashboards.
Submit single case agreements (SCAs) and network participation forms when required.
Coordinate closely with RealTex leadership and clients on status updates and missing information.
Qualifications
1+ year of experience in healthcare credentialing and/or insurance authorizations, preferably in ABA or behavioral health.
Working knowledge of payer portals (Availity, CAQH, Medicaid, etc.).
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple provider and client files simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Reliable internet connection and ability to work U.S. business hours (CST preferred).
Experience with systems like Central Reach, Rethink, Tebra/Kareo, Aloha ABA, or similar is a plus.
Preferred Skills
Understanding of CPT codes related to ABA and mental health (97151, 97153, 90837, etc.)
Familiarity with payer-specific authorization guidelines
Experience using Google Workspace (Sheets, Drive, Gmail) and shared trackers
Self-motivated, responsive, and dependable under deadlines
Compensation
Hourly or project-based (commensurate with experience)
