JOB OVERVIEW

TaxKey Accounting is a bookkeeping firm located in Virginia, USA. We have been in business since 2020 and now we are looking to add a virtual administrative assistant/ bookkeeper to our team.
Regular duties include (but are not limited to) :

• Performing bookkeeping tasks for the firm’s different clients
• Recording and maintaining daily financial transactions, updating clients' bookkeeping functions using QuickBooks Online and desktop accounting software including but not limited to new customer and vendor creation, recording of invoices and customer payments, expenses, and bank feeds.
• Completing and reviewing month-end work (reconciliation of bank accounts, credit card statements, post cash receipts and cash disbursements, preparing monthly financial statements)
• Record journal entries for each payroll
• Work on Excel worksheets for project estimations, etc.
• Responds timely and accurately to internal team and client requests.
• Appropriately communicates difficult situations to the supervisor.
• Perform thorough self-review of all work prior to submission to supervisor.
• General admin support
• Follows regulations and professional ethics of the AICPA.

Skills:

• Accounting bachelor’s degree or associate degree is required.
• Understanding of GAAP
• Thorough understanding of bookkeeping functions such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Financial Statements, Payroll, General Ledger, and Financial Reports
• The bookkeeper should have a QuickBooks desktop copy to be able to work on the files
• The candidate must have reliable internet.
• Years of experience: 2 years
• Excellent knowledge and experience with QuickBooks Online (Certified are preferred)
• Excellent knowledge and experience with QuickBooks Desktop (Certified are preferred)
• knowledge of MS Excel (creating spreadsheets and charts and using financial Excel functions).
• Ability to effectively manage time, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
• Strong organizational skills and extreme attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
